Gaku Ei is a major antagonist in the historical seinen anime and manga series Kingdom. He was a General for the state of Zhao, the former left hand of the late General, Kei Sha the Silent Hunter, and leader of his personal army, the Gaku Ei Army during the Warring States era of ancient B.C. China.

Personality[]

Before meeting Kei Sha, Gaku Ei was a lone-wolf warrior with a serious personality, who simply killed his opponents without feelings or remorse throughout his military career, but it was when he met Kei Sha who complimented for his hard work, it was the first time, that someone said something good about him with just two simple words, "Good Work". After that, he became more attached and extremely loyal to the young general. Gaku Ei also showed his sarcastic side as he jokingly teased Kin Mou for the height difference between them or arrogantly mocked his opponents as they fall to his leader, Kei Sha's traps. However, after Kei Sha's death at the hands of Ri Shin, Gaku Ei became a very vengeful man, even going so far to harm anyone in his blind rage who got in his way to avenge his master's death.
