Galakrond was a major antagonist of Warcraft, back during the age predating the rise of the Dragon Aspects. The original dragon and the progenitor of dragonkind, Galakrond was a titan of destruction and cruelty. Slaughtering everyone and everything he came across, by feeding upon the latent magical energy all dragons had within themselves saw what was once the mightiest dragon transform into an unspeakable monstrosity. Becoming so power and ravenous that he threatened to end all life on Azeroth, the Dragon Aspects, back then merely simple but brave protodragons, unified and made their stand against him with the help of the Watcher Tyr, ultimately defeating him against all odds. For their courage, the Titans infused these five with immeasurable power, creating the Aspects. Unbeknownst to most, Galakrond's transformation into a crazed monster was caused by Yogg-Saron.
Galakrond's horror would then fade into legend, though his colossal remains can still be found in Northrend. He is the overarching antagonist of World of Warcraft: Dragonflight, while a non-canon version of him was the main antagonist of the Hearthstone expansion Descent of Dragons and the Galakrond's Awakening adventure.
Personality[]
Not much is known about Galakrond's personality as there are not very many chronicles of him to begin with, the Aspects wishing for him to remain dead and buried. Galakrond embraced the animalistic, feral side of dragonkind to the extremes, slaughtering and feasting upon everything in sight in order to grow more powerful. In time, the waters he drank from became corrupted by the taint of the Old Gods, specifically the Old God imprisoned deep beneath Northrend; Yogg-Saron. Now becoming increasingly less dragon and more mutated nightmare, Galakrond's evil only grew exponentially worse from here on out. Insatiable in his hunger, the world feared he would bring total extinction across the entire planet.
