The Galalunan Commander, also known as The Traitor, is a minor, yet pivotal antagonist of Sym-Bionic Titan, serving as the main antagonist of the episode "Escape From Galaluna".
He was once a former commander of Galaluna who's task was to protect Galaluna under orders from the King and Queen. However, he grew a deep ambition, and when General Modula came to him promising world conquest and a "reward beyond measure", he decided to sell out his own planet and race to him and let the Mutraddi invade Galaluna, thus leading to countless deaths and thus technically making him one of the ones responsible for the majority of the events of the series, despite being killed off by Lance who discovered his treachery.
He was voiced by Corey Burton, who also voiced Captain Hook and Shan Yu in Kingdom Hearts, Brainiac in the DC Animated Universe, Shockwave in the original Transformers cartoon, Megatron and Shockwave in Transformers: Animated, Count Dooku in Star Wars: The Clone Wars, V.V. Argost in The Secret Saturdays, Quint in Timon & Pumbaa and Zeus in the God of War franchise.
Biography
Once a former, stern commander of Galaluna's military, the commander secretly worked with General Modula for years to make his invasion of Galaluna smoother and easier in promise of great power for future world conquest and a "reward beyond measure". The commander eventually leads a mission on one of Galaluna's moons where the Mutraddi have taken a bunch of soldiers hostage. The commander then stalls Lance to let the hostages die and the Mutraddi to get their orders from Modula about the planned conquest. When Lance manages to find a way to the outpost, the hostages were already killed by the Mutraddi themselves. Lance also sees the Mutraddi jamming Galaluna's signals for the coming invasion. Killing the Mutraddi, the commander sees the dead hostages, and decides to blame Lance for their deaths, leaving him to be imprisoned by the King himself after getting punched in the face by the young soldier.
The commander then sends the Mutraddi to ravage Galaluna, leading to the planet's capital city being burned alive and thousands of people being slaughtered left and right. The commander then sees Lance escaping and tries to stop him, saying that he has been planning/facilitating the invasion for many years to gain power and strength among all others and conquer multiple other worlds. The commander then gets his sword out and prepares to kill Lance with it, ordering the Mutraddi to exterminate the royal family just to hurt him further.
Lance fights the commander in a long duel, but Lance corners the commander on the remains of a bridge where he impales the commander straight through the stomach, killing him once and for all and avenging the countless lives lost because of him.
Trivia
- Although only appearing in one episode, he is one of the few characters responsible for the entire events of the series due to him being willing to let General Modula and the Mutraddi invade Galaluna and cause the population to be either killed or enslaved by the aforementioned Modula.
