~ The Narrator of Ys III: Wanderers from Ys on Galbalan. |
Galbalan is the main antagonist of Ys III: Wanderers from Ys. He also has more characterization than his canon counterpart.
Appearance[]
In the PC-Engine intro, he is depicted as a red muscular draconic humanoid demon with a blue gem on his head, three clawed fingers, wings, and spiked shoulders.
Powers and Abilities[]
He was capable of destroying a bridge beneath Elena’s feet and teleporting her away.
In his boss fight, he can fire blue projectiles and balls made from lightning.
Biography[]
He is a demon who, in the past, terrorized the people of Kenai and claimed many lives in the process. However, Genos, who saved the world many times in the past, defeated Galbalan in an intense battle and had him sealed away with the power of four statues. Later on, after Adol defeats Garland, one of Galbalan's cronies, Galbalan kidnaps Elena and demands Adol to bring him the statues. When Adol reaches the top of the tower on the island alongside Chester Stoddart, Galbalan greets them through telepathy and shows that he has Elena tied up on the other side of a gap from the two. Chester demands Galbalan to release his sister and take him instead. Galbalan rebuffs him as he really wanted the statues in Adol’s possession. The portion of the tower Chester is on is then levitated towards his sister where he explains that if Galbalan isn’t killed, not only they will get killed by him, but so will humanity. Adol then offers up the statues in exchange for the siblings’ safety. Galbalan then tells Adol to ride a platform so that they will meet in person. After the ride, Galbalan tells Adol to taste the demon’s true power.
After Adol defeats Galbalan, he flees with Elena while Chester gives his life to destroy the island along with Galbalan.
