The Gale Banbara is a Mutant Robot of the Neo-Human Empire Phantom Army and an antagonist in episode 5 of the 1973 Tokusatsu series Inazuman.
He is voiced by the late Hiroshi Masuoka, who later voiced Devil Banbara in the same series and also voiced Sun Halo Mask and Navigator Gator in the Super Sentai franchise, as well as Dord in B-Fighter Kabuto. His human guise is portrayed by Toshi Moriya.
Biography[]
The Gale Banbara was sent to stoke chaos throughout Japan by using his powers to cause powerful windstorms. Among those caught in his winds was a truck driver named Shinichi, who almost died but was saved by Goro Watari in Raijingo. After Shinichi was saved however, Gale Banbara approached him disguised as a crippled human and told him that Goro had in fact caused his accident using Raijingo and had only pretended to save him. He then enlisted Shinichi to help him destroy Raijingo by driving a truck into it.
Shinichi attempted to run Raijingo off a cliff with his truck, but he was thwarted by Goro using Raijingo's rockets to fly away. As punishment for failing him, Gale Banbara ordered his Phantom Soldiers to kill Shinichi, but Goro showed up and rescued him. After Goro brought Shinichi to a hospital, Gale Banbara abducted Shinichi's younger brother to use him to lure out Inazuman. He sent Neo-Human fighter planes to attack Inazuman, but Inazuman destroyed them all before facing off against Gale Banbara. Gale Banbara was destroyed by Inazuman with his Lightning Kempo Kick.
