“ | Knights of Bern! We strike now! Leave none alive! Don't even leave them time to scream in fear! | „ |
~ Galle |
Galle is a supporting antagonist from Fire Emblem: The Binding Blade. Once a high ranking soldier of the Wyvern General Murdock, Galle eventually became one himself after the demotion and eventual death of Narcian. He is voiced by Takuma Terashima in the Japanese and Daman Mills in English.
Appearance[]
Galle is a young man with long blue hair that reaches down to his thighs. He wears a purple headband, a long black coat, and lavender pants. Above these clothes, Galle wears a black breastplate and matching greaves.
Personality[]
Galle is an honorable man with a strong sense of duty towards Bern, the country he emigrated to. He is also passionately in love with his fellow soldier Melady, and saw enough potential in her brother Zeiss' skills to personally mentor him. However, unlike his companions Galle was unquestionably loyal towards King Zephiel, as the man respected his capabilities despite being a foreigner. This loyalty drove a wedge between Galle and Melady, as the latter was faithful to Zephiel's sister, Princess Guinivere, above all else.
Biography[]
Originally born in the Kingdom of Etruria, Galle emigrated to Bern and enlisted in it's army, where he distinguished himself with his prowess wielding a lance and riding wyverns. His skills were so great he quickly became a candidate for the rank of Wyvern General, which was only bestowed to Bern's three strongest generals. However, Galle's fellow soldier Narcian, disgusted with the idea of a foreigner obtaining such a rank, complained loudly about the potential decision and spread nasty accusations of Galle's fealty. As a result, Narcian was promoted to Wyvern General instead. However, King Zephiel personally assigned him to be Wyvern General Murdock's direct subordinate and assured Galle that he had his complete trust. Over his career, Galle also met and fell in love with Melady, the stewardess of Zephiel's sister Princess Guinivere. When not on the battlefield Galle also mentored Melady's brother Zeiss.
As the Disturbance continued, Narcian committed various tactical blunders, such as losing control of the Western Isles. After Narcian failed to seize Arcadia and secure its Divine Weapon Forblaze, Zephiel demoted him and finally promoted Galle to Wyvern General in his stead. When the Lycian League broached Bern's soil, determined to enter the Shrine of Seals, Murdock ordered Galle's squad to ambush them as his soldiers guarded the shrine. Melady and Zeiss confronted him, Galle insisted that they follow through with the path they chose even if it meant killing him. Indeed, Galle met is end on the battlefield that day.
Despite Galle's death fighting for Bern, he can fight alongside the League in post-game Trial Maps. To obtain him, players must complete The Binding Blade twice.
