Gallus Cleaner is a supporting antagonist of the anime, manga and light novel series Mushoku Tensei: Jobless Reincarnation. He is a smuggler from Windportand obsessed with Beastfold children.
He is voiced by Eiji Takeuchi in Japanese and by Matt Thurston in English.
Appearance[]
Gallus Cleaner is a man of average height with a muscular build and brown hair arriving at his eyes and brown beard. He has a large scar across his right eye. He wears a brown attire with his chest exposed and a rectangular green gem necklace around his neck. He also has small earrings on his ears.
In the manga, Gallus appears in a somewhat older appearance and has an eyepatch that covers his right eye.
Personality[]
Gallus shows no remorse on using children. He is a malevolent individual who exhibits a complete lack of empathy toward children and is willing to inflict harm upon them. Furthermore, he demonstrates a willingness to sacrifice his allies for his personal gain. In addition to his cruel nature, Gallus possesses a cunning strategic mind, devising intricate plans to eliminate rival smugglers and orchestrate large-scale kidnappings of members from the Doldia tribe.
Gallus's disregard for the well-being of children is deeply troubling. His actions suggest a complete absence of a moral compass, as he shows no qualms about causing harm to innocent individuals who are particularly vulnerable.
Biography[]
Gallus makes his appearance when Rudeus Greyrat accidentally bumps into him after having a demon eye from Kishirika Kishirisu. He is then saved by Rudeus after being pushed away upon seeing a pot that was about to be dropped on him.
This act of saving Gallus prompts him to express his gratitude by assisting in the smuggling of Ruijerd Superdia, from Wind Port to Zant Port. When Rudeus was imprisoned by the members of the Beast Tribe, Gallus appeared and declares that he plans to kidnap all of the Beastfold children. Rudeus faces him to prevent his action alongside the Sacred Beast. However, he was greatly overwhelmed by the man's fighting capacities.
Despite even using the powerful demon eye, Rudeus found himself constantly in the struggle against him who possessed superior strength. This resulted in Rudeus being unable to fight back through the fight. However, the situation took a turn when Geese cleverly employed a fake tear gas bomb, creating a diversion that allowed Rudeus to seize the opportunity and render his opponent unconscious. Subsequently, Rudeus was apprehended and handed over to the Zant Port officials for further handling.
