~ The GameFuna slogan. |
GameFuna is the main antagonistic faction of Daniel Mullin's connecting game series. It is a game development and publishing company responsible for the development of Inscryption (in-lore), as well as purchasing the rights to Super Weasel Kid and publishing Systemworks games Combat Arena X and Secrets of Legendaria. They are intertwined with the stories of both The Hex and Inscryption.
They were founded by Louis Natas, who was freed after the events of Pony Island. They are mostly well-known for producing bad quality ports of well-known properties.
Members[]
Louis Natas[]
The enigmatic CEO of GameFuna, speculated to be Lucifer himself.
Lionel Snill[]
A contractor of GameFuna, who has various game ports made by the company. He is an egotistical game developer initially unaware of the extent as to which GameFuna's engine can develop life-like characters.
Amanda[]
An agent of GameFuna, sent to retrieve the Karnöffel Code from Luke Carder. She is speculated to actually be Sado, one of Carla Dosa's creations.
Kaycee Hobbes[]
A developer at GameFuna who first made Inscryption. She was inclined to destroy the game when it contained the Karnöffel Code, but hid it somewhere due to a bond she had with one of the game's characters.
Rob[]
An employee at GameFuna. He gave Super Weasel Kid '09: Super Redux one of the only good reviews on it's Steam page.
Admin T. Irving[]
The digital assistant of GameFuna's main game engine, the Gameworks. He helped with the development of Inscryption, and most if not all of Lionel's games.
Biography[]
Pony Island[]
At the end of Pony Island, Satan is freed from the game to wreak havoc on the world as Lou Natas, an agent of chaos.
The Hex[]
After learning that a piece of the Karnöffel Code had somehow manifested into Lionel's computer as "The Artifact", they had purchased the publishing rights of Lionel Snill and Systemworks' games. When Secrets of Legendaria had failed, Lionel had fled the company, attempting to make games in the desert.
After Reginald used The Artifact to kill Lionel Snill, Sado leaks out of the game. It is revealed that she very likely either possessed or became Amanda.
In Inscryption, it is revealed that his grandfather used his computer to decrypt some of the Code, and some of its influence made it onto the computer.
Inscryption[]
Inscryption was the game designed around being a cover for hiding the Karnöffel Code inside of it. Somewhere before the game's completion, Kaycee Hobbes stole the encoded game and messed around with it. After seeing the truth about it, he sought to destroy it, but because she was fond of Leshy, she instead buried the game some place in the woods and put some coordinates on an Inscryption card pack "where no one would find it". After Lou Natas found out, Kaycee Hobbes was promptly murdered.
After her death, Kaycee's mother started selling her things off at a garage sale. Looking for cards packs to open for his channel, Luke Carder bought the Inscryption card packs, including the one leading to the buried copy of Inscryption.
At the end of Inscryption, Luke Carder tries to expose GameFuna using news interviews, but before he can do so, he is shot by Amanda. While he is being shot, for a few frames, Sado's face can be seen plastered on hers.
At the conclusion of the Inscryption ARG was a "true ending" to the game: P03 had somehow stopped the deletion of the Inscryption game and uploaded it to the internet for all to see.
