Gamemnae, also referred to as the "Goddess of Technology", is the main antagonist in Season 5 and a minor antagonist in Season 6 of Supergirl.
She is an ancient alien with technokinetic abilities and a high ranking member of Leviathan. She was appointed leader after the removal of Rama Khan, which she played a role in. Following the creation of Earth-Prime, Gamemnae assumes a human identity, Gemma Cooper, and begins working with Lex Luthor to plot the destruction of the human race. She intended on using Andrea Rojas' World Wide Unity Festival to connect with and kill half of the Earth's population only to be foiled by Supergirl and her friends. Gamemnae was finally destroyed when Kara uploaded the Anti-Life Equation into Leviathan's computer system, killing her.
She was portrayed by Cara Buono.
Personality[]
“ | DON'T TELL ME ANYTHING! I am a god, you are nothing! Do you understand? | „ |
~ Gamemnae venting to Lex Luthor. |
Gamemnae held human beings in very low regard, seeing her relations with certain humans like Lex Luthor, as a means to an end. She initially presents herself as a supportive, compassionate mentor to Andrea Rojas, but when Supergirl broke into Obsidian's system Gamemnae revealed her callous and manipulative nature by forcing Andrea to assassinate the heroes or else her father and company would suffer the consequences. Gamemnae was also prepared to kill billions of innocent people to further Leviathan's agenda of global domination while decimating nearly all life on Earth.
Appearance[]
Despite being ancient, Gamemnae maintains the appearance of a beautiful woman in her thirties or forties with caucasian skin, long blond hair and dark brown eyes. She used this appearance manipulate Andrea Rojas into believing that she was human and make her an Obsidian North board member. The only problem being that she could not maintain her façade when using her active powers. She is also seen wearing extravagant bright green dresses whether in public or in her secret lair.
When shedding her disguise, Gamemnae appears as a metallic exoskeletal being with tentacles for hair and glowing red eyes, making her look quite intimidating.

Trivia[]
- Gamemnae is the first and only villain to have no direct contact with Supergirl in the season in which she is the main antagonist. She is also the second one to be killed by the Girl of Steel, the first being Rhea.
- Gamemnae tells Brainy "You cannot kill technology. But technology, can kill you."; this is similar to what Die Another Day villain Gustav Graves, said to James Bond "You can't kill my dream, but my dreams can kill you!". Another interesting fact; both villains used these words right before being killed by the main protagonists (Supergirl and James Bond, respectively).
