Gargan is a giant who challenged Hercules.
Hercules was reluctant to fight the giant, but Gargan threatened to kill everyone in town if he refused.
At first, Gargan battered Hercules around the town with his large club, but Hercules finally won by grabbing the club and hitting Gargan over the head with it. Hercules then knocked the giant out cold with a punch to the head. Afterwards, it is not known what happened to Gargan. It could be that the blow to the head killed the giant, or that he woke up and wandered off, never to be seen again.
