The Gargoyle Gang is an antagonistic organization in the third season of the CW series Riverdale. They are a gang of followers of the Gargoyle King who are hidden under gargoyle masks.
Biography[]
The Gargoyle gang appear in Season 3 and Jughead Jones encounters them in the forest while they were with the Gargoyle King. He informs Betty of his meeting and suspects Joaquin DeSantos of being one of them after he says he will join a new gang. They also think that Warden Norton, the head of the juvenile detention center, is the Gargoyle King. Later, Jughead, Sweet Pea and Fangs capture and tie up Joaquin while learning that he is indeed one of the Gargoyle Gang's followers. Jughead then questions Joaquin about why he made him stab Archie and Joaquin explains that according to the cards Archie had to die.
Later in the episode, the Gargoyle Gang attacks Reggie, Veronica, and Josie as they all work at the speakeasy, La Bonne Nuit. They try again to attack Reggie's truck but are themselves preempted by the intervention of the Southside Serpents who capture a Gargoyle while the other members flee. Jughead explains to the gargoyle that Veronica is protected by the Serpents and that Hiram Lodge will not bring down Riverdale. Then, in order to defeat the Gargoyle King, Fangs infiltrates the gang and manages to convince the king to join him through his sales of Fizzle Rocks.
For this a ceremony is held for Fangs however, the Gargoyle Gang is trapped by Jughead, FP Jones and the Serpents. Although the thugs flee, their King is captured and it turns out that Tall Boy was behind the mask. On the other hand, Marcus Mason, Moose's father takes on the appearance of the Gargoyle King and his juniors those of the Gargoyle Gang in order to scare Moose and Kevin because they are gay. The couple prepare to play the game but are saved by Cheryl and the others who unmask the King and gang.
