Garm is a major antagonist in God of War Ragnarök. After his defeat, he gets turned into Fenrir, Atreus' pet wolf.
Biography[]
Garm was chained up in Hel at an unknown period of time to stop him from destroying the nine realms. Atreus, feeling bad for the wolf after the death of Fenrir, decided to let it free. This choice led to Sindri's house being attacked, as Garm opened a portal between realms in the World Tree.
Looking to correct his mistake, Kratos and Atreus went back to Helheim to end Garm, and despite Atreus' hesitancy, they decided it was for the best.
However, Garm survived his initial killing, and began attacking again. Atreus then had the idea to put Fenrir's soul in it, which worked, turning Garm into Fenrir.
Trivia[]
- Garm is inspired by a real wolf in Norse Mythology named Garmr but his role combines elements of both Garmr and Fenrir.
