The Gas Banbara is a Mutant Robot of the Neo-Human Empire Phantom Army and an antagonist in episode 10 of the 1973 Tokusatsu series Inazuman.
History[]
Gas Banbara used his poison gas to terrorize humans all across Japan. In response to the gas attacks, a team of researchers led by Dr. Katsuki went to investigate the source of the poison gas, but Gas Banbara killed all of them except for Dr. Katsuki. Dr. Katsuki however was able to develop an antidote to the poison gas, whose formula was hidden on the inside of a pendant. Capturing Dr. Katsuki, Gas Banbara disguised himself as the professor to go and search for the pendant, but his disguise was uncovered by Goro Watari. Gas Banbara then revealed himself and demanded the pendant with the formula in exchange for Dr. Katsuki's life.
Goro brought the pendant to the place set for the exchange, but after he handed over the pendant Dr. Katsuki was snatched away again in a plume of smoke. Upon bringing the pendant to Emperor Banba however, the Emperor deduced it as a fake and demanded Gas Banbara bring him the real one. Gas Banbara then demanded Inazuman bring him the real pendant, and tied Dr. Katsuki to the front of a train, but Inazuman rescued the professor and sent the train railing backwards. Gas Banbara then sent the train forwards again to run them over, but Inazuman lifted up the bridge before the train could cross it so it went over the cliff instead. Inazuman would then defeat Gas Banbara by using his Lightning Strike to send him over the side of a cliff, causing Gas Banbara to explode as soon as he hit the ground.
