The Gasgira are the supporting antagonists in Halo: Infinite. They are a sub-species of the Xalanyn led by the Harbinger who aligned themselves with the Banished after her release.

Not much about the Gasgira is known but like the Xalanyn, they were imprisoned by the Forerunners in Cylixes long ago many years after the Forerunners destroyed their homeworld for unknown reasons during the Human-Forerunner War as their Cylixes would be transported to Installation 07. Since then, they were left forgotten for many years.

Upon the Harbinger's release, the Gasgira would also be released from their imprisonment by the Banished. At first, they seen openly hostile towards both Banished and the UNSC until Escharum decided to add them in the ranks as part of his alliance with the Harbinger. Their presence would also disturb some of the Banished.
In May 2560, the Master Chief and the Weapon would encounter the Gasgira for the first time after they captured Despondent Pyre in order for the Harbinger to extract her Encephalon while killing her. The Master Chief soon fought against them and the Banished later on through the battle. They also briefly encountered a Gasgira squad led by Skimmer Alpha and took them down.
The Gasgira are seen again where they attempted to stop the Master Chief from killing the Harbinger but failed. Despite this, they gave the Harbinger enough time to make contact with Atriox, allowing her to give him the location to release the Xalanyn. After their release, they continue to work alongside the Banished despite the Harbinger's death.
