Gasper is an antagonist in Chicago P.D. He's a gangster who kidnapped Pearl Ames after her father Adam Ames was arrested for attempting to transport several loads of Gasper's drugs into Canada, at the behest of Peter Walker.

Background[]

Gasper was described as ruthless having no qualms in murdering those he sees useless. His ruthlessness extends to harming children, if they stood in his way. He was the head of a drug ring and owned a construction yard that he seemingly operated his organization through. Two of his subordinates Johnny Zakarian and Gregor got him in contact with con artist Peter Walker to link up with him. Gasper allowed Peter to work with him though Peter secretly deemed Gasper as crazy and scary man for how he commanded his gang.

Soon Gasper entrusted Peter with transporting a shipment of his drugs to Canada, that was worth thousands. Knowing the risk of being caught with such a load, Peter entrusted the delivery with Adam Ames who was secretly conning and had serve as an oblivious patsy in case things went wrong and because he knew Ames had to go to Canada anyway. To keep it from being discovered, Peter had Johnny hide the stash in a layer under the carpet in the trunk of Ames' car.

A Night Owl[]

When Ames was arrested in a traffic stop and the drugs confiscated, he refused to divulge Peter's identity to protect him, and Intelligence knew he was protecting the real culprit. Gasper soon discovered that delivery had not gone through and confronted Johnny Zakarian, who was tortured until he divulged that the drugs were in Ames' possession. Seeing Zakarian was now a loose end, Gasper had him burned alive and shot Michael Perry, a young boy for witnessing the crime.

When CPD Intelligence discovered Zakarian had modified the car, they went to his house to find the carnage. Soon they learned of Gregor, but he committed suicide out of fear of going against Gasper. Intelligence then finds out that Ames had no connection to either man but discovered Peter who was the common denominator in the investigation and bring him in. However, Peter denies knowledge of drugs, knowing the consequences of going up against Gasper especially when seeing pictures of Zakarian and Perry.

Eventually, Gasper looked into Ames' life and learned of his wealth, thinking he could reclaim his lost fortune. He abducted Ames' daughter Pearl, calling Ames' wife Claire to pay off her husband's debt or else her daughter dies. He even sent a picture of her tied up with a gun to her head. Ames frantically turned against Peter by giving them leverage in the form of Peter's brother. They threatened to send Peter's brother to prison unless Peter comes clean about what he has done. Sgt. Hank Voight shows the photo of Ames' daughter Pearl with a gun to her head, and he is forced to implicate Gasper, who owns a construction site and reveals Pearl was in Gasper's trailer after he recognized the background from the picture.

This led Intelligence to a raid, as they mislead him into thinking Mrs. Ames is compiling the ransom. However, it didn't take long for him to realized that he was being played, and she is talking to the cops, despite his order. He hung up to act on his threat of killing Pearl but Intelligence gun down his men and proceed to throw a smoke bomb to catch him off guard before barging in. Gasper tried to reach for his gun, but Det. Antonio Dawson ordered him to surrender, and he begrudgingly complied, with the case ending with Gasper's arrest and Pearl's rescue.

Gasper is ultimately incarcerated for drug trafficking, kidnapping, and two counts of murder.
