Gaylen is the overarching antagonist of 3Below, the second installment in the Tales of Arcadia franchise. He is an ancient Akiridion celestial who created Akiridion-5 before growing more power hungry and attempting to destroy it.

Gaylen was a powerful deity who used his powers to crush the stars and use their dust to create the planet of Akiridion-5.
However, he eventually became far more greedy and power hungry and attempted to destroy the planet. Before he was able to do so, another ancient Akridion, Seklos, sacrificed her own core that would pierce Gaylen's core and destroy him.
The royals of Akiridion-5 were responsible for guarding his core. However, after the Zeron Brotherhood attempted to steal it, King Fialkov and Queen Coranda realized that their planet was no longer safe for it. Taking it to Earth, they entrusted Kanjigar, the Trollhunter at the time, to hide it. The core was placed in a hidden chamber in the Deep, and it remained there until House Tarron returned for it.

Unfortunately, General Morando was able to steal his core thanks to Morgana's Eternal Night and her corruption by the Arcane Order in extent, and used its power to become a god-like being himself. Stuart manages to construct a new version of Seklos' cannon, which had to be powered by two royal cores. The regenerated Fialkov and Coranda sacrificed their own cores to power the cannon, destroying Morando and Gaylen's Core.
