~ Mr. Robinson in "The Heart" |
Mr. Gaylord Robinson is a supporting character in the Cartoon Network animated series The Amazing World of Gumball.
He was voiced by Rupert Degas in Seasons 1-2 and by Stefan Ashton Frank from "The Tag" onwards.
Appearance[]
Mr. Robinson is an anthropomorphic puppet with a body resembling a slightly rounded cylinder. His gray-blue fur covers most of his figure, except for his prominent, bulbous, grayish-pink nose. He dresses in a navy blazer, a short red striped tie, a white shirt, brown pants, and plaid slippers. He also wears large, rectangular, thick-rimmed glasses to aid his vision, due to his tiny eyes, and sports a unibrow.
Personality[]
Mr. Robinson is a highly grumpy and short-tempered individual. He harbors a strong dislike for the Watterson family, especially Gumball and Darwin, despite their numerous attempts to befriend him. He often insults them, calling the Wattersons tacky and cheap, as he sees himself and his property as superior. Mr. Robinson's temper can flare quickly, and he easily loses control when provoked. Although his anger is intense, it doesn’t seem to intimidate him, even as he frequently bickers with his wife, Mrs. Robinson.
Despite his outward hostility, Mr. Robinson is energetic at heart, as seen in "The Debt" during his dance performance. While he may despise Gumball and Darwin, he maintains a certain bond with them. In "The Heart," he begins to feel emotionally empty when they decide to distance themselves from him.
