Gemini (also known as just The Twins) is a boss of the game The Binding of Isaac and its remake The Binding of Isaac: Rebirth. It appears in the Basement as Gemini, and later on in the Cellar as the zombified Blighted Ovum. It is unique as you technically fight two bosses at once.

Appearance

Gemini are a pair of conjoined, naked twins connected by an umbilical cord. Contusion, the larger of the two, has two buck teeth and two mismatched eyes, while the smaller Suture has its eyes always shut tight until its brother is defeated.

As Blighted Ovum, the flesh of Suture has decayed to having gray skin, with part of the head near the left eye and the lower jaw missing. Suture appears as a disconnected ghost, with a white, whispy body.

Biography

Gemini

Contusion's main form of attack is to chase the player around their arena, trying to land contact damage. After a period where it charges at the player at an increased speed, it stops to catch its breath, leaving it open to attack. Suture drifts along nearby, firing bloody projectiles. If Contusion is killed first, Suture would become furious and chase after the player like its larger sibling, but takes more knockback.

Gemini comes in three variants, a green version which has Suture detached but doesn't move as fast when its sibling fails, a blue version that has more health but slower, an a "eternal" variant where not only are there two Sutures, but Contusion can break rocks, releases the Sutures when its health is lowered enough, and all three siblings slowly recover themselves if Contusion is alive.

Blighted Ovum

The boss differs from Gemini as it spawns with the two twins unconnected from each other. Contusion leaves creep behind it where it moves, damaging the player if they stand on it. It also never tires, continuing its attempts to hunt you down. The spirit of Suture is invincible, and attacks when the player is in its line of sight, firing a stream of blood. When each part dies, they shoot bloody projectiles.
