Gene Marshall is a minor antagonist in the Showtime series Dexter, appearing in both the series and the webcomic known as "Dexter Early Cuts".
In the series, he was portrayed by Benton Jennings.
Biography[]
Early Cuts[]
Marshall was a millionaire living in Miami, accruing his wealth through the real estate business. He was charged with seven murders after burning down one of his own apartment complexes and killing multiple people, but was deemed mentally unfit to stand trial and given only three months in an asylum after bribing his therapist. He hadn't renewed his insurance policy and lost millions.
Dexter Morgan kidnapped Marshall and tied him to a table in order to make him pay for his crimes. After a short conversation Dexter seemingly killed Marshall by cutting his throat. He shoved the body in the trunk of his car to conceal it until he could safely dispose of it.
Later, Marshall was revealed to still be alive after he woke up in the car. Dexter opened the trunk but was slashed with a knife by Marshall as he tried to get away. He easily knocked Marshall unconscious before finishing him off by running him over with the car.
TV series[]
In the series, Marshall's story is almost exactly the same. However, in this version Dexter takes a blood slide before killing Marshall after giving his confession.
