It took nearly a decade to build Nomad, so this our last chance at winning the war. If they get this AlphaO weapon online and destroy Nomad, they win. And we go extinct. You’re the only one who knows the layout of that lab. Maybe you can help us.
~ General Andrews towards Joshua in order to recruit him.

General Andrews is the main antagonist of the Sci-fiction war movie The Creator. He is the leader of a soldier base to heads to war against android-like human figures to wipe them out of existence for their rebellion and save the human race.

He was portrayed by Ralph Ineson who also played Amycus Carrow in the Harry Potter films, Ralf in First Knight, Chris Finch in the UK version of The Office, Dagmer Cleftjaw in Game of Thrones, SkekMal in The Dark Crystal: Age of Resistance, Kevdak in The Legend of Vox Machina, and Galactus in Marvel Cinematic Universe.

Personality[]

Though he appears ruthless, Andrews’ motivations are rooted in a deep, albeit twisted, sense of duty. His actions suggest a moral calculus rather than sadism—he sees sacrifices, even civilian casualties, as unfortunate but necessary. His relationship with Joshua reveals hints of complexity: while likely lying about Maya’s survival to manipulate him, Andrews also grants Joshua a measure of dignity and choice in how to deal with Alphie, the AI child. He even honors Joshua’s request to attend Alphie’s cremation, suggesting a latent respect or empathy beneath his hardened exterior. Whether these moments are signs of genuine compassion or strategic calculation remains open to interpretation, adding depth to his role as a morally ambiguous human being.

Biography[]

In 2055, an AI created by the U.S. government detonates a nuclear warhead over Los Angeles, California. In response, most Western nations commit to eradicating AI to prevent human extinction. However, New Asia, a region encompassing East, South, and Southeast Asia, continues to embrace AI, resisting these efforts. The U.S. military aims to eliminate "Nirmata," the mastermind behind New Asia's AI developments, by using the USS NOMAD, a space station capable of launching devastating orbital strikes.

He first appears when he and Colonel Howell recruited Joshua to retrieve the weapon named Alpha-O, which then shows him a footage of Maya being alive, which later turned out to be false, since she was encountered by Joshua in a state of coma.

Taylor is captured again and forced to attempt killing Alphie with an electroshock weapon. However, Andrews soon realizes this was a deception, allowing Taylor and Alphie to escape. They board a lunar shuttle, and Alphie forces the spacecraft to land aboard NOMAD as Andrews orders a full-scale attack on AI strongholds. While Taylor plants explosives on NOMAD, Andrews activates a robot to stop him, forcing Taylor to eject an escape pod with Alphie inside. As Alphie lands safely on Earth, Taylor reunites with a simulant version of Maya, reactivated by Alphie with her memories, and they embrace as NOMAD explodes, killing Taylor and destroying Maya. Alphie emerges from the escape pod and is welcomed by the AI community as the new "Nirmata."
