Colonel General Androvich (Russian: Андреевич) is a minor antagonist in Season 3 of the TV series Marvel's Agents of S.H.I.E.L.D..

He is an officer of the Russian Armed Forces and the Minister of Defence, as well as being an Inhuman capable of manipulating Darkforce. Under Gideon Malick's suggestion, he attempted to assassinate Prime Minister Dimitri Olshenko so opposition leader Anton Petrov can replace him. He is also the reason that S.H.I.E.L.D. agents Bobbi Morse and Lance Hunter were forced to leave the agency.

He was portrayed by Kristof Konrad, who also played Vladimir in Tomb Raider.

Biography[]

Androvich was a KGB assassin until the fall of the Soviet Union and became a high-ranking officer in the Russian Armed Forces. He was later promoted to Minister of Defence, granting him accessing to nuclear launch codes. During the Terrigen outbreak, he underwent Terrigenesis and transformed into an Inhuman capable of manifesting a shadow being using Darkforce.

When opposition leader Anton Petrov tried to get approval to build a sanction in Russia for Inhumans and was denied by Prime Minister Dimitri Olshenko, Androvich used his powers to kill Olshenko's attaché Yuri Krupin who was sent to shut down the program. This led to him being detained. Later, when Gideon Malick met with Petrov at the proposed site, he convinced them to release the General and assassinate Olshenko so Petrov could assume the position by default. Therefore, General Androvich was freed as the Prime Minister started to arrive and Malick left.

Just as Olshenko arrived and realized Petrov's treachery, Androvich was about to assassinate him when S.H.I.E.L.D. intervened with a smokescreen. Androvich was taken away by Bobbi Morse, Daisy Johnson and Alphonso "Mack" Mackenzie, but he revealed his powers to them and easily overpowered them while he escaped. Androvich continued to send his shadow being to kill Olshenko, who was being protected by Lance Hunter as he met with FSO agents. However, he was then assassinated by Bobbi, who knew killing him was the only solution, but this resulted in both her and Hunter being arrested.

Legacy[]

Despite his death, Androvich's actions had escalated tensions between Russia and the United States. Despite U.S. President Ellis' insistence to the contrary, Olshenko started accusing Hunter (whom Olshenko witnessed killing Petrov) and Morse for being S.H.I.E.L.D. agents and recruiting Inhumans as trained operatives. This forced the pair to be voluntarily disavowed to protect the agency and prevent a potential cold war.

A year later, S.H.I.E.L.D. learned that Olshenko had indirect ties to anti-Inhuman group Watchdogs, meaning that he developed ill feelings towards Inhumans since Androvich tried to kill him.

Darkforce Manipulation: Androvich possessed the power to manifest Darkforce in the form of his shadow, being able to shift its density at will. This allowed the shadow to harm others while being able to not get touched by others.
Martial Artist: Androvich seemed to have some skill in martial arts. He was seen using precise strikes to pick his opponents apart. He also attempted a chokehold on Bobbi Morse.
Bilingualism: Androvich was fluent in his native Russian, as well as English.
