General Crunch is a major antagonist in Power Rangers RPM. He was one of the four generals under the command of the Venjix Computer Virus and the Venjix Computer Network. He was created by Venjix to be one of his top generals and commanders of his robotic army, along with General Shifter, Kilobyte and Tenaya 7.
Just like his fellow generals and commanders, Crunch helped his master Venjix numerous times with his plans of world domination, destroying Corinth city and wiping out the remaining humans in the city. Crunch was also one of the Ranger Operator's archenemies and one of their most powerful and dangerous enemies. Crunch eventually perished and was destroyed in the finale of the season in Corinth, after crashing into the ground inside the control tower when Venjix's fortress was destroyed.
General Crunch was voiced by Charlie McDermott who previously voiced Hekatoid from Mystic Force, Blothgaar from Operation Overdrive, Pangolin from Jungle Fury and later voiced Grinataur from Super Samurai, Bigs from Megaforce, Cat O'Clock from Ninja Steel and Rygore from Super Ninja Steel.

Crunch was created by Venjix before the events of the season, when the evil computer virus started conquering the world. Venjix needed loyal military officers and commanders for his army and so he created Shifter, Crunch and Kilobyte to his top generals and officers of his robotic army of Grinders and Attack Bots. Venjix created Crunch and put him, alongside Shifter, in charge of the robotic army of Grinders and Attack Bots.
Crunch and Shifter helped and assisted their master for a two years and after the two years of conquest, billions of humans were exterminated with only a small city of Corinth in Boston-Massachusetts was left, with humans inside protected by the energy shield, a very protective dome and Ranger Operators and so Venjix ordered his generals to create the plans of invading and destroying the city and all remaining surviving remnants if human race.
Power Rangers RPM[]
Not much is known behind the creation of General Crunch, or what his duties are in the service of Venjix (as his comrade General Shifter generally handled the creation of Attack Bots, while Tenaya 7 generally led ground battles against the Rangers and infiltration); regardless, he seemed to be a high-ranking officer, and once entirely handled the creation of the Balloon Bot and beginning the growth download sequence while Venjix was apparently occupied. He rarely entered the battlefield himself, though this was not out of cowardice but simply not being required very often; he could however handle himself in a fight, utilizing a staff topped with a cloud-like end.
At one point he drove Venjix to blow him to pieces when he first asked if Venjix would rather wait until the rangers defeat an attack bot before downloading into it a growth program, and later wonders out loud why Venjix hasn't launched a full-scale attack while the city defenses were down (in other words, was pointingg out flaws in Venjix's plans). After Venjix decided that both General Crunch and General Shifter had become obsolete, they were blasted and destroyed. After sometime though, both generals were rebuilt and given their positions back in Venjix's evil machine order. He fought the rangers personally for the first time, where he defeated Ziggy and Summer in combat, showing the true fighting potential behind his confused personality.
Throughout the season, Crunch remained one of Venjix's top minions and generals and created multiple plans and schemes of entering and destroying Corinth city and wiping out all surviving remnants of humanity in order to complete Venjix's plans of world domination and replacing humanity with his robots. However, practically always the plans of the villains were foiled by Ranger Operators, who always saved Corinth. At one point Kilobyte, a missing general of Venjix, who disappeared a long time ago and was considered destroyed, eventually returned and started serving Venjix again, and of course caused rivalry between him and his fellow generals Shifter and Crunch.
In the finale of the season, when Tenaya hacked into Venjix's database, Crunch broke nto the control tower and began to fight with Tenaya, easily overpowering her. However, when Doctor K reversed the deletion of Gem and Gemma, they shoot down the control tower with Crunch still inside. Crunch was destroyed when it crashed into the ground.
Personality[]
General Crunch was not so serious and gives the appearance of being less intelligent unlike his co-general, General Shifter. And while he appears to be confused, dumb, and a bit of a blabbermouth, often angering Venjix, he also displays a highly-tuned sense of strategy. He is also quite a skilled fighter. Crunch served as the comic relief of the series, being played almost always non-seriously and was frequently abused and humiiated by Venjix for his failures to defeat the Rangers.
However, despite his dimwitted, dumb and incompetent, Crunch also possessed high intelligence and strategic instinct and was able to create a cunning and complicated plans of attacking Corinth, fighting and tricking the Rangers and infiltrating multiple different places secretly. While his efforts to serve Venjix and earn the gratitude, praise and congratulations of his master were not a complete failure, but his stupidity was Crunch's greatest weakness and faiure and he was punished by his master far too many times, which could cause and create some sympathy to Venjix's poor stupid general.
Crunch also posssessed a complicated relationships with his other fellow generals, such as Shifter, Kilobyte and Tenaya. Crunch always competed with Shifter, and tried to prove that his monsters were better and more powerful than those of his comrade. And Crunch feared Kilobyte for the latter's ruthlessness and violence. But, however, Crunch always distrusted Tenaya and predicted her betrayal and his expectations and suspicions were proven to be true when Tenaya revealed that she was a human and betrayed Venjix. In the finale Crunch fought Tenaya and was horribly shocked when his former comrade outsmarted and killed him. Overall, Crunch was a dimwitted, dumb, incompetent and comical, yet not completely evil, but intelligent, smart and clever general whose incompetence and stupidity were his greatest redeeming qualities and he proved to be highly comical and not completely evil.
Powers and Abilities[]
Crunch is a highly powerful robotic general and is one of the most powerful generals and minions of Venjix. He is arguably the third most powerful general of Venjix, after and Kilobyte and Shifter and is in fact the fourth most powerful enemy of Ranger Operators in RPM, surpassed only Venjix himself, Kilobyte and Shifter. Crunch possessed multiple supernatural powers and abilities, granted him by his master Venjix.

- Superhuman Strength: Crunch is quite powerful physically, possessing strength, that surpasses the strength of ordinary humans and even surpasses the strength of the Ranger Operators. He was shown to be strong enough to overpower Ziggy and Summer in combat.
- Superhuman Durability: Crunch is also highly durable and can withstand multiple physical and energy hits and attacks from Ranger Operators.
- Superhuman Stamina: Since he is a robot, Crunch also possesses supernatural stamina and is able to hold his own in battle far longer than ordinary humans.
- Skilled Fighter: Crunch is also a highly capable fighter, even desite his dimwitted personality. He was able to quickly overwhelm Ziggy and Summer in the battle and even overpowered Tenaya 7 in the finale of the season.
- Energy Blasts: Crunch can roject powerful energy attacks from his staff to attack his enemies.
- High Intelligence: Crunch is also highly intelligent and clever and can create multiple attack bots and multiple schemes and tactics for tricking and outsmarting his enemies.

Trivia[]
- He occasionally breaks the Fourth Wall, by questioning Venjix on why he doesn't take certain actions; such as waiting for the Rangers to badly damage an Attack Bot before downloading the growth program to it, and not launching a full scale attack when Corinth City's defenses are down. In this way, Crunch can be seen as voicing the audience watching the show.
- Depending on the opinion of the viewer, Crunch's statements may be insulting Venjix's intelligence/common sense. Alternatively, Crunch's statements can be seen as a form of lampshade hanging utilized to address perceived plot holes.
- General Crunch never made the action figure line that went along with the show. However, an unarticulated collectible figure was made for the Adventure Sets. It comes with the Trax Adventure Set and the Engine Adventure Set.
- During his first appearance, Crunch voice was pitched lower resulting in a deeper voice, it was likely changed to a high pitched one to fit his personality.
- Crunch is the only one of three original generals of Venjix who never betrayed him.
- Crunch is the third general of Venjix to die.
