~ General Deathzero |
General Deathzero is the commander of the Waller Empire's Machine Army and a major antagonist in Jikuu Senshi Spielban. He is an android constructed to lead the armies of the Waller Empire and programmed with a knowledge of all military tactics. He is in charge of deploying the Battle Mechanoids to attack Spielban. His personal vehicle is the Skulldon tank, which he pilots against Spielban's Gaios. He is also capable of assuming a torpedo-like form called Deathzero Missile.
He is voiced by the late Shōzō Iizuka, who also voiced several other villains in the Metal Hero series including Demon King Psycho, Great Emperor Kubilai, Satan Goss, and Org Ninja Dokusai.
Biography[]
In the past, right before Waller invaded Clin, General Deathzero was responsible for abducting the Clin scientist Doctor Ben on order of Queen Pandora so he could be converted into Doctor Bio and have his scientific knowledge harnessed for Waller's cause. He also kidnapped Ben's daughter Helen so she could be used as a hostage to further ensure his loyalty.
General Deathzero accompanied the rest of Waller to Earth to harvest the planet's vast supply of water for their deity. When Spielban and Diana attacked Waller's north pole base in search of Spielban's sister, Deathzero sent out a Battle Mechanoid to deal with them.
While a feared and respected commander initially, Deathzero's continued defeats at the hands of Spielban cost him his reputation with the Queen, who eventually replaced him as army commander with Emperor Guillotine once he arrived. After Guillotine mysteriously disappeared and Queen Pandora voiced her displeasure at the General, Deathzero began looking for ways to become stronger. Upon coming across the filming of a romantic movie, Deathzero became convinced that having a good woman as his wife would motivate him to fight harder. Deciding that Diana, Spielban's female partner, would make a good wife for him Deathzero kidnapped her and brought her to a movie studio, where he confessed his love to her and asked her to marry him. Diana refused and Deathzero attempted to have her killed, but she was rescued by Spielban and Helen.
After losing several key generals and having the Waller's plans be continually thwarted by Spielban, Queen Pandora threatened to punish Deathzero next if his latest plan to defeat Spielban did not work out either. Desperate, Deathzero went to Doctor Bio to request help in overthrowing the Queen and defeating Spielban. Bio refused, viewing it as a betrayal of Waller, and their conversation was overheard by Poss. It wasn't long after that Queen Pandora summoned Deathzero into her throne room and offered to give him another chance. Grateful, Deathzero launched a series of attacks on Tokyo with the purpose of freezing their water supply with his new New Battle Mechanoid, Blizzer. Impressed, Queen Pandora rewarded Deathzero by bestowing unto him the "Ultimate Circuit", a 10,000 volt cylinder which would boost his abilities in combat.
During his next attack however, Blizzer was destroyed by Spielban. It was then that Queen Pandora activated the Ultimate Circuit to force Deathzero to fight Spielban. Deathzero summoned Skulldon to do battle but was fought off by Spielban in Gaios. He then assumed his "Deathzero Missile" form to attack Spielban, Diana and Helen with, but Spielban stopped him before he could defeat Diana and Helen. Reverting to his base form, Deathzero had his powers amped up when Pandora drastically increased the output of the Ultimate Circuit. Deathzero charged into battle one last time against Spielban and was destroyed by the warrior with his Arc Impulse, leaving behind only the Ultimate Circuit. Following his demise, Pandora lamented, not his death, but the fact that he had not taken Spielban with him.
Powers and Abilities[]
Deathzero mainly wields a sword in battle. He also pilots his own personal tank, the Skulldon, which can split into two separate vehicles, the Skulldon Jet and the Skulldon Cutter. He is also capable of assuming a missile like form called Deathzero Torpedo, which is launched from a catapult.
