General Gato is one of the three secondary antagonists (alongside General Mono and General Serpiente) of TMNT. Gato was one of Yaotl's generals until he and Yaotl's other three siblings were encased in stone. Three millennia later, he was revived by Yaotl.

He was voiced by Fred Tatasciore who also voiced Rocksteady from the 2012 TMNT series, Black Adam, Dogpound in the 2013 game based off the 2012 TMNT series, and Repo Mantis in Rise of the Teenage Mutant Ninja Turtles.

Biograph

Early life

Gato was born around 1000 B.C. somewhere in Central America and grew up in the Aztec army alongside his brothers Yaotl, Aguila, Mono and sister General Serpiente to become merciless tyrants leading a massive army into conquering every kingdom of the ancient world. Known to have been second most trusted of all five siblings, he also served as the brains to Yaotl, who was warrior-king of their brotherhood.

Encased In Stone

While fighting their way to finishing their subjugation of the ancient the country of Paxmec with the siege on its capital Xalica, the five barbarians learned from a wheel-like artifact they seized from within the city's temple about a constellation known as the Stars of Kicaan, which aligned every 3,000 years to send a beam of energy opening a portal to another dimension. As the portal opened, its energy made Yaotl immortal but the price was costly, for it turned Gato and the other three generals to stone and released from its vortex opening 13 monsters that decimated the rest of their army and their Xalican opponents.

Present Day

Gato's statue is taken to New York city, along with Mono, Aguila and Serpiente, to a tycoon by the name Max Winters, whom is the immortal warrior-king yet alive. Yoatl revives Gato and his brothers and sister with an enigmatic technology and ends them to kidnap all the thirteen loose abominations looming over the world, in order to preparerade for a new and more powerful conquest.

After capturing ten monsters, the Stone Generals go to capture the eleventh monster, a flying teredactor-like beast. Ralphael and Casey Jones are on their vigilante tour and find the generals and the Foot Clan subduing the monster. Gato however, spots them after hearing a piece of rubble falling from the edge of the roof. Gato compromises them and orders the Foot to fire tranquilizer darts and them, hitting Ralph in the arm. Gato throws a shuriken at his hitting his shell. He then climbs the building to perish both witnesses. Casey and Ralph manage to flee and hide in a metal toolshed, but are however detected and Gato attempts to breach the metal door and seize them. A police chopper intervenes and Gato is forced to escape without capturing or killing them.

Moments later the generals and the Foot Clan sedate and trounce Leonardo in order to betray Yoatl after a suspicion of betrayal might ensue. Gato is inquisitive on whether Leo is suitable to pose as the final monster. Aguila approves however that Yoatl will never find out before the end.

Final Moments

3000 years are past and the portal is activated ready to unleash more monsters into the world. Yoatl is frustrated and irate over his' siblings' betrayal and insurbordination. The warrior-king is knocked off the upper level of the building and hits to floor with no injuries or wounds. After, he explains to the rebel crew his plans to cease his curse and the plage of the immortal monsters, his stone siblings enter the ground floor and express their desire to conquer the entire world with the monsters and maintain immortal indefinitely.

The Turtles and Stone Golems contend with each other for a long while and they are finally vanquished as the final monster falls into the vortex and stumbles the generals with them. Gato is turned portal along with his siblings and are sent to unknown fate.
