General Gilmore is the main antagonist of the anime movie Doraemon: Nobita's Little Star Wars and its remake, Doraemon: Nobita's Little Star Wars 2021. He is the leader of the PCIA army and the tyrannical dictator of planet Pirika after usurping it from President Papi, ruling it with an iron fist.
He was voiced by Nobuo Yana in the original movie and Teruyuki Tagawa in the remake.
History[]
Gilmore was originally the leader of the PCIA army, serving under President Papi himself. However, he secretly plotted a coup to overthrow Papi and take over. During the coup, Papi was sent into space by his loyalists. Knowing this, Gilmore sent his army, led by Colonel Dracorl, to follow and kill Papi.
Eventually, Papi lands on Earth and is found and nurtured by Nobita, Doraemon and Shizuka. Meanwhile, Dracorl's troops cause destruction to Suneo's toys, believing them to be Papi's allies, much to Suneo and Gian's anger as they think Nobita is responsible. Upon learning about Papi's existence and circumstances, Suneo and Gian then join the group to protect him. Dracorl's men spy on them and find Papi, but instead only manage to capture Shizuka and hold her hostage. Papi then allows himself to be captured in exchange for Shizuka's freedom.
Returning to Pirika, Papi is sentenced to death. Meanwhile, the main group, alongside Papi's friend Rokoroko, follow the spaceships to Pirika and help the rebellion, led by Genbu. Seeing a new threat for his rule, Gilmore orders Dracorl to find and capture them. Thanks to Rokoroko's endless talking, the group's invisible paint wears off before they can reach the rebel army's base, and Dracorl manages to capture them all and sentence them to death. Meanwhile, Shizuka and Suneo are piloting spaceships and destroying multiple ships of Gilmore, before dropping to the ocean. The Shrink Ray's effect on them wear off, allowing them to return to their normal size.
Just then, Nobita, Doraemon, Suneo, Gian, Papi and Rokoroko are about to be executed, but Shizuka and Suneo terrorize the city due to their large size, allowing Doraemon to realize that the ray's effect is wearing off. Thanks to this, the four return to their normal size and defeat Dracorl's troops. Fearing for his life, Gilmore tries to flee, but is stopped by the rebellious citizens. Knowing that he's done for, Gilmore bows in defeat and is subsequently imprisoned and presumably executed for his crimes.
