General Gyrer is the lead warrior of the Space Crime Syndicate Madou and a major antagonist in Space Sheriff Sharivan. He is third-in-command of the Madou forces, reporting to Doctor Polter, and is assisted by his aides Miss Demon 1 and 2.
He was portrayed by Satoshi Kurihara.
History[]
Gyrer arrived with the rest of the Madou at Earth intending to invade it. Upon hearing that the Space Sheriff Sharivan of the Galactic Union Police had arrived on the planet, Gyrer led a recon mission to scout out and capture Sharivan. Gyrer succeeded in luring Sharivan into a trap and locking him up in a cage, but Sharivan managed to escape with help from his Grand Birth ship, which fired at Gyrer's forces and drove them off.
Returning to the Genmu Castle, Gyrer reported to Demon King Psycho that the recon mission had been a failure and that Sharivan was aware of their presence. Doctor Polter then arrived and chastised Gyrer for wasting resources on a recon mission when they were on a strict timetable to invade Earth. Psycho then declared that threats to their invasion must be eliminated and instructed them to send forth a Makai Beast.
As part of his scheme to take control of the Madou, Reider sought to play Gyrer and Polter against each other. Through his mystical abilities, Reider convinced Gyrer that he would make a better army commander than Polter and gave him ambitions of usurping her, while at the same time making Polter paranoid that Gyrer was trying to overthrow her. To prove he was better than Polter, Gyrer deviated from a plan Polter formulated to challenge Sharivan himself, resulting in the plan's failure. After being punished for his disobedience, Gyrer got drunk and stormed Psycho's throne room to confront Polter, only to be thrown in the Madou dungeon by Psycho. Fearing that Gyrer could still come after her, Polter sent Miss Demon 1 and 2 to murder Gyrer in his sleep. Gyrer anticipated this and fought them off once they entered his cell before going to confront Polter again. It was at that point that Demon King Psycho, tiring of Gyrer's antics, turned him into a statue to hold up the throne of Madou, where his chosen successor would sit.
Eventually, Gyrer was freed from holding up the Madou throne and joined Polter and Reider in competing to be Psycho's successor. With the discovery that the Iga Crystal was on Earth, Demon King Psycho declared that whoever brought the crystal to him first would be his successor. Gyrer sought to obtain the crystal, but was beat out when Polter and Reider got to it first. Gyrer then decided to prove himself a different way and intervened in Reider's confrontation with Sharivan to fight the Space Sheriff himself, buying Reider time to go and steal the crystal. As Gyrer and Sharivan fought, Psycho took notice of their battle and dragged them both into the Genmu World to increase Gyrer's power, but despite this increase Gyrer was still killed by Sharivan.
