General Headhunter is the main antagonist of Lupin III: Dead or Alive.

Biography[]

Lupin was exploring in search of a treasure Headhunter knew was hidden in the barren Drift Isle. Lupin also noticed that soldiers never lasted very long on the isle as he observes one of their skulls. Goemon also noticed a knife jabbed into the head of Chief Vollsky's corpse which closely resembles a skeleton and identifies it as Headhunter's doing.

They travel the island and find other corpses of victims done in by Headhunter. After escaping the traps set on the island, Lupin questions the reliability of the story that lead him and his two male buddies to that lab which was due to the prior king of Zufu having constructed it to be a vault for national treasure before he and his son Pannish were killed in a military coop followed by General Headhunter usurping the throne.

They also find that the general is more than what he appeared to be. The general is formally introduced sitting on the throne he usurped next to an unhappy woman as two female fighters, one of them being Fujiko, are about to engage in the arena before him. Just as Fujiko was about to be stabbed by her opponent, she strangles her aggressor with a rope.

Zenigata later brings a video message Lupin recorded for General Headhunter about how far from pleasant it was to keep the treasure of Drift Isle for his own gain with Lupin intending to swipe it.

Later, Lupin talks with a fat mechanic about Headhunter's "daughter" Emerah who was connected with Drift Isle but something ensured she wanted to get away from him and might explain about that place if she did. Soon, the General is at a dinner table when Crisis arrives to notify him about Pannish potentially surviving his death when Lupin sends a message about coming for Emerah.

Just then, a missile blasts through the window from the plane, with Lupin retrieving the girl. Headhunter rushes into the room he held her in, shoving Zenigata aside just in time to see Lupin escape.

Angered, he smacks Crisis aside when he starts to fire and reprimands Zenigata for being less competent than he made himself out to be and will not leave the country alive. But Zenigata considers this a foolish thing to call it all over so soon. Revealing that Emerah is in a closet.

Just as Lupin and his two male friends secured her in their hideout, she is revealed to have a hidden camera in her ring from which Crisis and Headhunter watch from alongside Zenigata. Having seen where Lupin is, Zenigata tells Crisis to come with him to Lupin's hideout.

Soon, Crisis's men surround their hideout and converge onto it with Emerah holding Lupin at gunpoint, revealing herself as a spy disguised as Emerah as part of Zenigata's plan to hunt Lupin down. She also explains she will allow the execution happy general to hold them.

After Lupin and company manage to escape, Fujiko talks with Headhunter about protecting his "daughter" with him telling her to keep an eye on her actions as well. After Headhunter leaves, Emerah explains to Fujiko that Headhunter is not her real father and knew the secret of Drift Isle.

Later on, Headhunter sends a message about taking more drastic military measures thanks to the meddling of Lupin, Jigen, and Goemon, claming it's for the safety of the citizens. However, as a still-living Pannish puts it, he only cared for the power he usurped and aims to restore their freedom.

As Pannish is still alive, Headhunter places an order to Crisis to catch him and prevent him from overthrowing the tyrant. Later on, she contacts Pannish to explain how it was too busy to get the outer wall reinforced.

Later on, Headhunter and Crisis witness a series of explosions as Pannish leads the rebellion. After Crisis captures and ties Oleander by the hands to make her talk about where Pannish is, Headhunter arrives to strangle her with one of his hands when the resistance force began its attack.

Upon hearing that Pannish was not among them, Headhunter promptly cuts his head off in anger. Personally threatening Ole with a knife, she lies on where Pannish is in order to ensure his safety along with the rebels. They arrive on Drift Isle where General Headhunter demands for Pannish to show himself only for the three to get attacked by the nanomachines which is stopped by Lupin when he disguised himself as Pannish to slip past the security check.

They walk through a forest formed by nanomachines with Headhunter taking command of the nano-control device to form himself an army and eliminate all he no longer finds useful. Just then, Lupin's disguise peels off like the fake skin it had which results in the nano-machines turning on everyone present and killing Crisis by bisecting him.

Headhunter attacks Lupin out of anger, using various blades from his body to assault him while the others try to avoid getting killed by the nanotech. After Fujiko successfully shuts down the machinery, Headhunter proceeds to continue his assault by sending bladed weapons after Lupin's fellow thieves until Lupin cooks up an improvised laser to blast Headhunter through the head, putting an end to his reign of terror.

As Lupin and company discover, he was made from nano-machines like what was on the island and remarks he never realized he was made of the stuff.
