General Ivar was a rocket-shaped robot who served as a military leader within Grimlord's Virtual Warriors and the secondary antagonist of VR Troopers.
He was voiced by the late Mike Reynolds, best known as Gennai from Digimon Adventure and Digimon Adventure 02.
History[]
General Ivar serves as the chief commander of Grimlord's outer military forces, including the Virtual Air and Ground units, as well as the one in charge of the Machine Men warriors. He seemed to have a friendly rivalry with Colonel Icebot, and the two often worked together. He typically resides in the Virtual Air Castle. Discovering that Ryan Steele, J.B. Reese and Kaitlin Star were en route to Professor Hart's laboratory, Grimlord contacted General Ivar and ordered him to devise a plan of attack. General Ivar sent Kongbot to accompany Decimator in a mission to intercept the teens before they could reach the lab. After the three emerged as the VR Troopers, Kongbot battled JB and Kaitlin while Decimator fought Ryan. While Kongbot was destroyed, Decimator critically wounded Ryan in a one-on-one fight.
Ivar would later be involved in helping to organize the Virtual Warriors for an attack on the Virtual barrier, enabling them to cross through into the real world. When the three VR Troopers appeared to stop the assault, Ivar organized his forces for an attack on Ryan while JB and Kaitlin moved to attack Grimlord's outpost. Ivar fought Ryan in his Land Rover and was beaten when Ryan used the VR Skybase to knock Ivar's Land Rover over a cliff, forcing Ivar to retreat.
Ivar was one of the few lieutenants of Grimlord to survive the Virtual Dungeon's destruction, alongside Colonel Icebot, and went on to serve him on board the Virtual Dark Fortress.

- Trivianoted how the similarity in General Ivar's voice to Mondo the Magician from Mighty Morphin Power Rangers as Mike Reynolds used the same voice for both characters so Mondo has been nicknamed "General Ivar the Magician" as a result.
