General Kar is the seven-tailed general of the Jashinka Empire, the second in command to Emperor Aton, the creator of the Evolution/Mechavolution Beasts, and a major antagonist in Kagaku Sentai Dynaman.
He is played by Masashi Ishibashi who previously played Boss Iron Claw in J.A.K.Q. Dengekitai, Commander Hedder and the Psychokinesis Monster in Battle Fever J, and later played Lehda in Kousoku Sentai Turboranger, and Major Phantom in Lady Battle Cop.

Past[]
The Tailed-People Clan Jashinka Empire originated from a meteor that crashed into Earth and burrowed into its core, where the lifeforms within it evolved into a civilisation known as the Tailed-People. The Tailed-People became advanced in science and eventually came to be ruled by Emperor Aton and his son Prince Megiddo who believed the Earth to belong to them. Due to Megiddo's inexperience though, Aton's second in command was the talented General Kar; a genius scientist responsible for creating the Jashinka's Evolution Beasts as only he could operate the Evolutionary Progressor.
Dynaman[]
In 1983, Emperor Aton begins plans to invade the surface of Earth so General Kar creates Crab Evo to kidnap humans so he can experiment on them and see if they can grow tails. After Kar determines it is impossible, Aton orders the Jashinka Empire to begin a war against the surface world, believing that humanity is inferior to the Tailed-People due to their lack of tails and that they will be easy to conquer thanks to the superior science of the Jashinka. When the Dynamen emerge and repel the initial invasion, Aton initially appoints his son Prince Megiddo as commander of the Jashinka forces with Kar being the one to create the Evolution Beasts. Kar and master Aton create and try multiple plans and attempts of the world domination, but their plans are constantly foiled by the Dynamen. With the death of Mammoth Evo, the last of the pure prehistoric animal genetics are expunged and thus no more normal Evolution Beasts can be created. However, General Kar then turns the Evolutionary Progressor into the Mecha Progressor; a machine able fuse partial animal DNA with various objects to create newer, stronger Evolution Beasts. Dubbed Mechavolution Beasts, these new creatures are too powerful for the Super Dynamite which bounces off them with Kar going to meet the Dynamen for the first time to watch them fight Missile Crayfish.
When General Zenobia is released from the Millennium Cave, Kar is forced to work with her without question, particularly as she starts to design her own Mechavolution Beasts that assist her cause. In one scheme, Kar seeks to use a special poison gas he invented on humans, only to discover it makes them grow horns and enlarges their ears and noses. Kar investigates the source and discoveres that Retro Genes had leaked into the gas, which can be used to give Emperor Aton a tenth tail. He eventually discovers the creator of the genes, Dr. Tooyama, is really Dr. Yumeno, the mentor of the Dynamen. Though Yumeno and the Dynamen destroy the genes, Kar knows Yumeno has the knowledge to create new ones and seeks to kidnap him using the Evolution Beast Computer Dragon. However, Kar is outmanoeuvred by Zenobia and the enigmatic Dark Knight, who hack Computer Dragon to kidnap the real Dr. Yumeno and swap him out for a fake dummy.
After discovering it was a fake, Kar seeks to find Zenobia so he can obtain the real Yumeno but Zenobia manages to spin the Mechavolution Beast's madness as an attempt at betrayal. Only managing to get himself one more chance at redemption, Kar manages to track Zenobia down but is confronted by the Dynamen once again. Despite Kar's seeming invulnerability, the Dynamen manage to weaken him by repeatedly hitting him with their strongest attacks and then mortally wound him with the New Super Dynamite. Dying, Kar retreats to the Great Gizmo and, with his dying breath, activates the Big Bang Beam to enlarge Computer Dragon to fight the Dynamen before passing on.
Legacy[]
After his death, Kar was given a lavish funeral by Aton and honored as a truly loyal warrior. With General Kar's death, the knowledge of how to use the Mecha Progressor and the ability to use the Big Bang Beam was lost. However, the final Mechavoluton Beast was Fire Sphinx since Kar created him before his death. Due to Kar's death though, the final Mechavolution Beast was unable to grow giant and the Jashinka Empire was destroyed very soon after anyway.
Personality[]
General Kar is a complicated and controversial individual; being Aton's closest and most loyal minion who always loyally follows and enforces his masters's orders, never questions or argues with the Emperor, while Kar frequently questions and argues with all other members of the Jashinka court. Kar is an extremely wise, intelligent and clever individual who possesses an encyclopedic knowledge of science, robotics and chemistry and always provides the Jashinka Empire with the weapons and resources. Kar is truly a scientific genius and a brilliant inventor whose skills in chemistry and robotics are greatly valued by Aton and the other members of the Jashinka Empire, and he is considered one of the Jashinka's court's most brilliant and valuable members. Kar always does his best to enforce and follow Aton's orders and impress his master to earn his trust and praise.

However, despite being a villain, Kar isn't completely evil. Despite serving Aton and the Jashinka Empire, Kar is a honorable, honest and fair individual, and a fair and honest player as well. He never cheates in battle, always playing and fighting honestly with his opponents. His loyalty to Aton and the Jashinka can be considered a patriotism. Kar is also highly honorable, not devoid of respect to his enemies and can be considered a sympathetic and honorable antagonist. Kar is mourned and honored by Aton as a truly loyal warrior, futherly proving his genuine loyalty to Aton. Overall, Kar is an honorable, honest and loyal warrior, who despite being a villain, still has multiple redeeming qualities and factors.
Powers and Abilities[]
- Power: Due to his role as the second-in-command of the Jashinka Empire and the general of the Jashinka army, General Kar is one of the most powerful Jashinka warriors and possesses multiple supernatural abilities. He is one of the most powerful opponents the Dynamen ever faced.
- Strength: Kar can fight and easily overwhelm all of the Dynamen with his bare hands. He also knocked away Hokuto’s Tornado Sword, Yousuke’s Tornado Typhoon and Ryu’s Shooting Star Kick simply by swinging his arm and cape.
- Durability: Kar withstood each of the Dynamen's signature attacks without a scratch. It took a direct hit from the New Super Dynamite to kill him.
- Expert Fighter: Kar is a skilled fighter, able to hold his own against all five Dynamen in battle.
- Speed: Kar can move at the speed of light, being unnoticed by the human eye.
- Stamina: Kar has incredible stamina, being able to engage in battle for many hours.
- Genius Level Intellect: Kar possesses a brilliant scientific intelligence and is a genius inventor and chemist.
- Expert Tactician: Kar is an extremely skilled tactician, being able to create a cunning plans and strategies for achieving his goals and to trick and outsmart his enemies.
- Teleportation: Kar can teleport to any location at will by crossing his arms and engulfing himself in blue energy.
- Helmet Beams: Kar can fire blue energy beams from his magic helmet. These were his most powerful attacks, causing massive explosions and taking down all five Dynamen with three shots.
- Barrier Projection: Kar can cross his arms and generate a blue barrier capable of blocking the Dyna Kick and Dyna Rods. However, it was easily defeated by the New Super Dynamite.
