“ | It's time for General Magmar to save the day - or, technically, to ruin it. Either way, a win for me... | „ |
~ Magmar in "The Book of Obsession". |
General Magmar is a character from the LEGO Nexo Knights TV series, serving as a major antagonist in the show's second season and a neutral character in its third season. He is a high-ranking Lava Monster and Monstrox's former right-hand man. After his master's defeat, Magmar assumed command of his army and eventually redeemed himself alongside other monsters.
He was voiced by Garry Chalk, who also voiced Grounder in Adventures of Sonic the Hedgehog and Killow in Ninjago: Masters of Spinjitzu.
Appearance[]
Magmar has black hair tied into a ponytail and yellow eyes, and most of his mace is obscured by a metal mask. His skin is red with occasional black marks. He wears a red cape and black pants with a badge shaped like a jester's head, likely meant to represent Jestro.
Biography[]
Past[]
Magmar and his six brothers used to serve the arch-necromancer Monstrox until he was defeated by Merlok and locked inside one of the evil books that Monstrox was split into.

Season 2[]
Magmar first appears when Jestro summons him to redesign Monstrox's old castle by adding death traps. While opposed to it, he later used this job as an excuse to prepare the place for the ritual the Book of Monsters planned for the future. Some of the villains' missions he took part in were supervision of Lance Richmond's parents while they were held hostage, infiltration of Knight-a-con, failed mostly due to his intervention, and the capture of the defected Jestro. During the final battle against the Nexo Knights, he and all other Lava Monsters disappeared after the Book of Monsters exploded and were presumed dead.
Season 3[]
However, a significant number of Lava Monsters, including Magmar, were revealed to have survived the explosion. They left the Lava Lands, wandering Knighton until they came across the land affected by the Forbidden Power of Blazing Burn. Witnessing a Rogul statue in the center, Magmar declared that this was a sign for them to settle there and build a town which they would eventually call "Burningham". Without Monstrox's influence, Magmar and other monsters were able to renounce their evil ways and remain content with their peaceful lives. One day, however, Monstrox, reborn as a cloud, visited the town and attempted to trick Burnzie and Sparkks into giving the Rogul statue to him. Magmar, however, warned them of Monstrox's true identity and had Whiparella drive him out of Burningham. Knowing that the villain would be back for revenge, he found the Nexo Knights and convinced them to help the monsters defend their town. Together, the former enemies managed to repel the Stone Monsters' attack and trick them into taking the fake Rogul statue.
Trivia[]
- He speaks with a British accent.
- It's unknown why he wore the symbol referencing Jestro long before meeting the jester and even after he had stopped serving him.
- Magmar never takes his mask off in the series, although the low half of his face can occasionally be seen through it.
- Magmar's exact social position in the Lava Monsters' society is unclear, as while Burnzie and Sparkks refer to him as "mayor", implying that he is the ruler of Burningham, Magmar himself later describes it as an "anarcho-syndicalist commune" where the power is periodically rotated between the citizens.
