General Nejirin is the secondary antagonist of the anime movie Doraemon: Nobita and the Tin Labyrinth. He is the general of the Robot Empire and Napogistra's second-in-command, tasked by the latter to find and capture Sapio Burikin to stop the threat the boy poses to the empire.
He was voiced by Osamu Kato.
History[]
When Sapio and his friends flee aboard Duke Burikin's island (which can function like a spaceship) into space, Nejirin was tasked by Napogistra to follow them to capture Sapio. After a year, the island landed on Earth and disguised itself as a tourist area. Nejirin then had his people spy on the island to find and capture Sapio, to no avail. When Doraemon is trying to search for Nobita in the snowy mountain, he is captured by Nejirin's soldiers, but escapes and chases them. Nejirin then shoots lasers at Doraemon, knocking the latter unconscious. Afterwards, he gets the report that his men have found Sapio's location, but fails to capture the boy once again, much to Nejirin's anger.
Having discovered the island's location, Nejirin orders his troops to attack it. However, Nobita, Shizuka, Suneo and Gian successfully defeat them, before Sapio and his friends reveal themselves and their circumstances as the island flies back to Chamocha, having discovered their saviors. The four then agrees to help them, since Doraemon himself has also been kidnapped by Napogistra's men. Napogistra is angered by the loss, but then the robot troops receive a message about Burikin's island returning. Because of this, Nejirin orders the soldiers to search for the kids at all cost.
Afterwards, the island lands on Chamocha's pole, but Nejirin has discovered its location and reports this to Napogistra, much to king's delight. Meanwhile, the main characters alongside Sapio and his friends are making a plan, which involves finding his father's invention to overthrow the robot king. Nejirin then commands his troops to destroy the island and go capture Sapio and his friends. However, since the labyrinth is too complex, the soldiers expire before reaching them.
Thanks to strategy, the main characters manage to lure the robot minions, Nejirin himself included, out to fight their living gigantic plushes, allowing Nobita and Doraemon to invade the palace and face Napogistra himself and shoot Duke Burikin's disk into Napogistra's mouth. At the same time, Sapio and Shizuka manage to free all the Chamochans from prison. Nejirin and his men search for them to no avail, so he reports this to Napogistra, much to the latter's anger. The disk then starts to show its effect, causing Napogistra and thus consequently all robot inhabitants in the city to act crazily, singing "Itomaki no Uta" while turning their hands over and over. Nejirin is then consumed by the flame that is engulfing the city, alongside the other robots.
