Fuff, better known as General Ultimax, is a major antagonist of the 2019 role-playing video game Bug Fables: The Everlasting Sapling. He is the military leader of the Wasp Kingdom and right-hand to the Wasp King.
Appearance[]
General Ultimax's body is brown, as opposed to most wasps' yellow. His military outfit is red and black.
Personality[]
General Ultimax is very boastful, arrogant, and loud, although it is implied that he is smarter than he appears. It is implied that his arrogant personality is influenced by the Wasp King's brainwashing, since he apologizes to the party during the epilogue ceremony.
Biography[]
General Ultimax is first encountered during Chapter 5: The Far Wildlands. When Team Snakemouth reaches the throne room in the Wasp Kingdom Hive, they are confronted by him. He tells the team that he has been watching their every step, and has been waiting for the right moment to surprise them. Ultimax calls for his troops to fight, to prevent Team Snakemouth from disturbing the Wasp King in his chambers. The general and his troops are defeated, and Team Snakemouth heads towards the chambers behind the throne room.
In the chambers, Team Snakemouth meets the Wasp Kingdom's true ruler, Queen Vanessa II, who is being held hostage in her own castle. She asks the team if they're here to save her, but Leif honestly tells her they were looking to defeat the Wasp King. Vanessa tells the team that the king is not in the castle, as he left the general in charge when he decided to attack the Ant Kingdom. Kabbu and Leif realize they were tricked, and after explaining to Vi that there is no artifact, she is also surprised. Vanessa advises the team to quickly return to the Ant Kingdom, and accompanies them.
As they reenter the throne room, they spot Ultimax snickering as he cannot believe Team Snakemouth fell for the trap. Vanessa calls the general "Fuff", which he denies is his name. He tells the team that while the first invasion failed, the second will not. Ultimax steps aside, allowing the team and Vanessa to go past, as he is confident they will not be able to stop the king. The team makes it back to the camp, and they alert Maki that they must return to the Ant Kingdom at once.
General Ultimax is encountered again in Chapter 6: Assault on Rubber Prison. At the end of the chapter, the Wasp King and his troops break down the wall that blocks Giant's Lair. He is confronted by Team Snakemouth, and summons Ultimax to deal with them, who is now piloting a tank. After his tank is destroyed, Team Snakemouth defeats General Ultimax again. After the battle, he still attempts to stop Team Snakemouth from progressing due to the Wasp King's mind control. Leif harmlessly freezes him, and the team moves on.
After the Wasp King's defeat, a reformed Ultimax is seen at the ceremony in the Ant Kingdom.
