Hi. This is Thesecret1070. I am an admin of this site. Edit as much as you wish, but one little thing... If you are going to edit a lot, then make yourself a user and login. Other than that, enjoy Villains Wiki!!!
You're a relic... In this world, power is the only thing that matters. You and those other no-named heroes, you're just people. In the great scheme of things, nothing you do has the least bit of significance. [Eiling visciously punches Shining Knight in the face] I'll waste you and a billion like you before you before I allow any power to rival America's. It's my duty.

Ever hear of "acceptable losses"? You can't make an omelette without breaking a few eggs.

All right, I've become what I hate, I'll give you that. But in the long run, you'll see I was right. You'll see you need the likes of me to protect you from them!

~ Eiling abandons his murderous crusade but remains convinced that the Justice League remains a threat to Earth.
General Wade Eiling is a major antagonist in the Justice League Unlimited animated series, serving as a minor antagonist in the Season 1 episode "Dark Heart", a supporting antagonist during the Cadmus story arc of Season 2 and the main antagonist of the Season 3 episode "Patriot Act".
He is a U.S. general who was a central figure in Project Cadmus. Like most of his fellow members, Eiling joins the organization out of concern on what the Justice League could do if they turned evil like their alternate counterparts from another universe did. However, after Cadmus is disbanded following the Lex Luthor/Brainiac fiasco, Eiling keeps insisting on the threat metahumans pose and tries to eliminate them, going so far as to mutate himself into a monster to reach this goal.
In "Dark Heart", General Wade Eiling contains the threat while he and his men evacuated the local civilians of three of Nevada's towns while the Justice League fights against the Dark Hearts. However, Eiling gets unnerved when he learns that the League's Watchtower has a binary fusion weapon which it used as part of the containment by Martian Manhunter. After the crisis had abated, Eiling takes control of the remains of the Dark Heart technology, stating that his scientists could learn a lot from something that had almost defeated the Justice League and warning the Leaguers about having a weapon of mass destruction in orbit, pointing down at the Earth.
In "The Doomsday Sanction", it's revealed that since the Dark Hearts incident, Eiling has become a key member of Project Cadmus, a secret division of the United States government led by Amanda Waller and financed by Lex Luthor who is not above using illegal and immoral methods to obtain power that could rival the Justice League in case those heroes went rogue. In his time with Cadmus, Eiling shows what kind of person he truly is. He considers himself a loyal American patriot, but he has no interest in democracy and considers the lives and liberties of ordinary citizens as insignificant.
When Doomsday attempts to kill Superman, the general fire a missile with a nuclear Kryptonite warhead, despite the fact that Superman and the Justice League were engaged in a rescue operation evacuating civilians from an erupting volcanic island. Eiling saw this as an opportunity to destroy a notorious drug-trafficking point, Superman and Doomsday in one shot despite Waller's anger at his reckless decision. However, Batman intercepts the missile while the Justice League defeat Doomsday on their own and exile him into the Phantom Zone.
In "Question Authority", Eiling approaches Captain Atom following his fight with Superman against Mantis in Metropolis once the Man of Steel leaves. Appealing at Atom's previous militar service, Eiling skillfully manipulates Atom into rejoining the United States of America government in an attempt to co-op the Justice League. Atom convinces himself to rejoin the army thanks to Eiling's manipulation, which proves to be an obstacle later on when Superman and the Huntress break into the project's facilities to rescue Question from Doctor Moon's clutches, as he had been captured, tortured and interrogated after failing to assassinate Luthor.
In "Flashpoint", in the aftermath of the Watchtower's binary fusion cannon was fired on the abandoned Cadmus headquarters, Eiling silently prompts Waller by tapping his pencil repeteadly to send Galatea and the Ultimen clones to attack the Justice League, believing them to have fired the cannon on purpose.
In "Panic on the Sky", Eiling and Waller watch the battle of the Justice League between Galatea and the Ultimen at the Watchtower in Cadmus' new facility when Batman breaks into the room. Alarmed, Eiling takes his gun to shoot Batman, but Batman quickly knocks him out with ap unch to the face before making Waller realize that the League was framed. Intrigued, Waller seeks for answers within the Cadmus data accompanied by Eiling and Professor Emil Hamilton and finds out that Luthor deceived them all by shipping their technology to his LexCorp labs for his own plans, though Eiling doesn't seem horrified at having been tricked by their financer.
Following the defeat of Lex Luthor and Brainiac, Project Cadmus is disbanded and all of its operatives are reassigned, with Eiling being demoted to desk office job. Unlike Waller, who learned to be more accepting and understanding towards the Justice League, Eiling blamed Superman, the Justice League and metahumans in general for the state of the world, thinking that Luthor was the one to blame for tricking him and his Cadmus colleagues.
In "Patriot Act", one year after the Luthor/Brainiac fiasco, Eiling steals and uses a classified Nazi body enhancement chemical captured by Spy Smasher during World War II after breaking into the former Cadmus facilities. Eiling proceeds to attack a hero parade in Metropolis to tries to call out the Man of Steel (who was on a mission off-planet at the time). He manages to overpower the valiant efforts of seven non-metahuman Justice Leaguers, severely injuring Green Arrow, Stargirl, Vigilante, S.T.R.I.P.E. and Shining Knight, though they all barely survive and rescue any innocents endangered by Eiling's actions. After the bystanders confront his twisted patriot act, pointing out that if he kills all metahumans the world will be left in danger, Eiling persists that the Justice League's super-powered metahumans are a threat to the people, only to be retorted that he is, in fact, the only one there with superpowers, and clearly using them against his own people. Trying to save face, Eiling finally admits that he has become what he hates, but insists that he is still right about the League, swearing that he will return because he believes that they will still need him. Eiling then leaves; his fate following the Metropolis incident is unknown.
In the tie-in Justice League Unlimited #5, it's revealed that following his rampage on Metropolis, Eiling was captured and locked away in the deep space by the Justice League. However, Eiling eventually finds his way by meteor-hopping to the Watchtower just as Blue Beetle is on monitor duty during the early morning, breaking into the station by punching the glass walls, hoping to find Superman or Martian Manhunter to kill them with his own hands. Upon realizing that Blue Beetle is the only one there, Eiling proceeds to brutally beat him up until "someone thougher" shows up, enjoying how hopeless Beetle is at besting him and destroying any communication machines to prevent him from calling for help. Thirteenth minutes later, Green Lantern arrives to help only to be knocked out by Eiling with a vicious punch, leaving Blue Beetle defenseless again.
Realizing that Eiling is now far more stronger than the Man of Steel himself and with no many options, Blue Beetle runs to the gym and tries to trick Eiling into entering there to be bested by Superman's training program, but Eiling rams him and destroys the panels to open the gym's door. Running for his life, Beetle goes to the equipment room and takes both flare and screamer arrows from Green Arrow, which he uses on Eiling to give him a sensory overload seizure, finally defeating the General. Minutes later, Green Lantern regains consciousness and shackles Eiling with his ring, complimenting Blue Beetle before leaving to place Eiling far more deeper in outer space to prevent him from attacking the Justice League ever again. Due to never facing the Leaguers afterwards, it can be assumed that Eiling was finally put away for good.

Trivia[]
His human form is similar to that of his voice actor J.K Simmons.
He is much like Marvel's General Thaddeus "Thunderbolt" Ross, although instead of holding a drive to contain and destroy one superhuman, he is targeting all meta-humans.
Also, like Ross, who became Red Hulk, Eiling is a hypocrite who acquired superpowers along with a monstrous appearance in order to directly fight the heroes.
