Genesis, born Tyler Dayspring, was originated in an alternate future era ruled by the eternal mutant Apocalypse. He is the adopted son of Cable. Hailing from a dystopian future, Genesis is a sworn minion of Apocalypse.
Tyler Dayspring was born two thousand years in the future as the son of Nathan Dayspring and his wife Aliya. He was raised by the Daysprings as part of the Askani Clan Chosen. He grew up in the terrible future in which the mutant Apocalypse ruled. Tyler and his parents where trained to fight the evil mutant. Tyler later became a freedom fighter and fought in the distant future war but during a battle to save his mother, Stryfe kidnapped and brainwashed him into becoming his father's enermy. He returned to the battle as a soldier loyal to Stryfe but was shot down by his friend and thought to be dead. Tyler survived and escaped from Stryfe's service. He grew bitter against his father for shooting him.
Traveling to the present using a time nexus, Tyler operated at first under the alias of rogue arms dealer named Tolliver. Wanting to punish everyone who crossed him, including his father who changed his name to Cable. Tyler later abandoned the identity for direct action taking the name Genesis and sought to become Apocalypse's heir ensuring his rise to power would take place, intent on seeing his lord and master rule over the primitive reality and avenged himself on Cable.
The unbalanced Genesis chose Wolverine to become a Horseman of Apocalypse and kidnapped him with help of his own Dark Riders. He attempted to erase Wolverine's mind and re-bond adamantium to Wolverine's skeleton. He saw him as the perfect fit for the role of the Horseman called Death. Using the stolen metal from Cyber, that Genesis killed by luring him into a trap, he was angered to discover that Wolverine was somehow willing the process to fail. Logan was finally able to overload the machines and caused a massive explosions. Meanwhile, in his Egyptian hideout, Genesis had concocted a huge device that literally sucked the life energies out of hundreds of innocents, transferring them into the body of the lifeless Apocalypse.
Surviving the explosion, Logan emerged from the flames. However the bonding process had taken its toll on him, giving him the appearance of a wild animal. Using his feral instincts and his natural bone claws, Logan made short work of the Dark Riders as his fellow X-Man Cannonball jumped into action, attempting to sabotage Apocalypse's resurrection. Genesis was then killed by Wolverine in a fit of pure animal rage.
