~ Genocide Heart

Genocide Heart is the core of RB3, or Region Buster Model 3, and is the antagonist of T260G's story in SaGa Frontier.

Biography[]

Long ago, in the far distant past, there was a war between two technologically advanced factions for control over the world. Toward the end of the war, the losing side became desperate, and constructed a weapon of mass destruction which they called RB, or Region Buster. This weapon, as well as its successor RB2, were both destroyed using conventional weapons. In order to prevent this from happening again, Region Buster Model 3 was designed with an advanced automatic self-repair capability that would allow it to repair as fast as it was being damaged, and to recover even from near-complete destruction, so long as its core remained intact.

However, the war ended before the doomsday machine could be unleashed upon the world. The victors successfully conquered the world, and created the organization now known as Trinity. Their war command center, designated as HQ, was attacked by a virus and went offline. With its target going silent, RB3 also went dormant and began to drift aimlessly.

In the present day, Thyme, a young scavenger from the ship graveyard region known as Junk, uncovers an ancient mech core. The core is brought back online thanks to the engineer Sir Uncle Taco, and is named T260G. T260G can not remember its purpose, and leaves Junk in search of answers. This search leads T260G back to HQ, which they reactivate.

With HQ's reactivation, T260G remembers their past, and that they were also a weapon created to end the war, in this case by diving into RB3's cyberspace and destroying its core from within. RB3 also reawakens, and begins to move to destroy HQ. According to T260G, if RB3 encounters any resistance along the way, it will retaliate against all regions indiscriminately and destroy the world. This includes if it is fired upon by HQ's automated defense systems. Destroying HQ is not an option to prevent this, as HQ also rewrote T260G's programming to force them to fight RB3.

With no other options, T260G and their allies track down RB3, which at this point has upgraded its body into a giant space vessel larger than a city. They find an access node and dive into the ship's programming, fight their way to the core, and destroy it.
