Genshin Asogi alongside, Yujin Mikotoba and Seishiro Jigoku were studying in London aiming to become a detective. During his stay, he became friends with the van Ziek's family, however, once he realized that his friend Klint van Zieks was "The Professor" who killed people with his dog, e asked the chief justice Mael Stronghart to investigate only to refuse his request since the only evidence he had was that Klint owns a large dog. He then went to Klint so they can dual to the death knowing that he was the killer, but before that Klint asked to write his will of confessing his crimes before dueling with him.
Stronghard not wanting the people to find out that Klint was the killer decides to pin the blame on Genshin despite not being killed by the dog just like the last victims. After killing Klint, he met up with Barok only to get attacked by Tobias Gregson and a gang of thugs surrounding them. Despite holding them off, they managed to steal his ring and put it inside Klint's stomach leading to false evidence of Klint swallowing the ring during his death when Genshin killed him.
During the time, he was forced to wear a metal mask to keep his identity hidden in the trial. Before going to prison Stronghard ordered him to write his will in the cell and when realizing that Genshin has Klint's will, Stronghard decides to make a deal with him. If Genshin decides to take the blame for the killing, his execution will be faked, and he will be buried alive so that Seishiro and Stronghard would pick him up so he could go to him.
Genshin agrees with the deal and put's Klint's will inside the hilt of his sword, hoping that one day it could be found and reveal the whole truth behind everything. After the class trial, he was found guilty of the murder of Klint and was sentenced to death by hanging. Afterward, Courtney Sithe, declared him dead from hanging and was buried alive after the execution.
Stronghart and Jigoku went to the grave to pick up Genshin but as it happened, Enoch Drebber ended up witnessing him emerging from the grave. Thinking that Enoch will tell the people that the Professor's death was faked, he orders Jigoku to kill Genshin despite keeping his promise to him, Seishiro reluctantly agrees and ended up killing Genshin causing the blood to splatter Drebber and ends up running away from the scene in terror. They then reburied his body and leave the graveyard.
