George Morales is the main antagonist of "The Dreamscape", the ninth episode of Fringe.
He is portrayed by Yul Vazquez.
History[]
George Morales met with John Scott, Mark Young, and another unnamed man for a deal. Young had been supplying weapons for them from Massive Dynamic, the company he works for. Scott killed the other man after Young and Morales left.
Young became the victim of a kind of hallucinogenic drug, designed to affect the part of the fear center of the brain. He encountered a swarm of butterflies coming from a ventilator, they caused several cuts on him before he fell out the window to his demise. He believed he was being attacked, which in turn caused his body to create wounds. When Philip Broyles sent Olivia Dunham to investigate his death, she eventually received a vision from John Scott, who recently died, and found out about George Morales.
Olivia and Charlie Francis followed a phone signal through Manhattan. Morales was in a cab during a traffic jam, he tried to run on foot when he saw the two but got hit by a car. In the hospital, Morales offered to tell them everything if they would protect him from Massive Dynamic. He believed the firm put that drug on Young as a warning to anyone else who might try to sell their secrets. He denies being the murderer because Young was a valuable source of technology for him. Additionally, Morales claimed that the Pattern is a front so Massive Dynamic can do whatever they want. Morales believed he can trust Olivia because John Scott told him about her.
Nina sharp refused to believe Morales’ story. Olivia told Nina to come clean before Morales says more, but Nina expresses doubt as to whether Morales will say anything actionable. Meanwhile, Morales was does with the drug. He imagined John Scott entering his hospital room, he frightfully told him that he wouldn’t say anything, but Scott slit his throat anyway. When the nurse walked in, she saw that Morales was actually throat-slitting itself, opening from the inside out.
Legacy[]
During the final battle of the Observers, Walter and Olivia used the same hallucinogenic drug George Morales was involved with to make the Observers’ imagine butterflies attacking them as well.
Trivia[]
