I just want to see what it was like. Just for a moment. That fear. I never meant anyone should come to harm. I just meant to scare him. If he could have understood... then maybe he could have loved me.
~ Georgina tearfully confessing her motive.
MANITA.
~ Hector Lorenz's final words, which meant "little sister" in Spanish, referring to Georgina (but was once misintepreted as "man-eater" that referred to the tiger).

Georgina "Georgie" Mortmaigne is the main antagonist in "Prey", the third episode in Season 3 of Endeavour. She was responsible for using a tiger to hunt down and kill both and Dr. Hector Lorenz, although those were not in her own intentions.

She was portrayed by Stefanie Martini, who also portrayed Sophia de Haviland in Crooked House.

Biography[]

Trivia[]

  • The descendant of Mortmaigne Family also appeared in Lewis, set more than fourty years than Endeavour.
  • Georgina was one of the few culprits in Inspector Morse franchise whose original motive wasn't murder. Here, she only tried to scare one of the two victims. In spite of this, all of the victims in the story, including the two central victims, are indirectly and inadvertently died because of Georgina's own actions and decisions, making her being responsible for a series of manslaughter.
    • However, whilst being sympathetic, her motive is obsessive, childish and selfish enough to make her count as a villain, since she only thought the tiger would only scare him without realizing beforehand that letting such a ferocious animal to go free would not only kill the man she loved, but also threaten the lives of many people.
