Biography[]

A series of murders that befell upon the city of Chicago seems to be religiously motivated. After the killer had sent the police department several mocking messages, the cops realize that the killer is intending on recreating the body of Christ for Easter. In order for this plan to come to fruition, the killer had been harvesting the body parts of his victims, amounting to six. The police officers discover the mutilated corpses in a variety of places, and they attempt to save the last victim of the deranged killer, to no avail.

Detective John Prudhomme, a transfer from Louisiana, began to track the killer, and he and his partner chase after the killer whilst in the rain. Unfortunately, the killer captures his partner, and attempts to trick John into killing him by dressing him in his own disguise. He survives, but his leg was to be amputated. Angered that John had interfered with the trial, he sends a seething letter to the detective, threatening to kill his wife. Through mistaken identity, he accidentally murders his wife's best friend. Desiring to make the detective suffer more, he steals his partner's leg.

Eventually, the killer is identified as Gerald Demus, who had been masquerading as and FBI profiler under the alias Wingate. Demus is arrested, but with no evidence to prove his guilt, he is only charged with impersonating a federal officer, and is released through bail. Not wanting him to go free, he is followed to the train station, and they accumulate enough evidence to convict him. Unfortunately, he escapes via a public shootout.

Demus finishes his masterpiece, and he puts it on display at the original crime scene. Seeing that the ritual wasn't complete, Demus heads to a maternity ward to sacrifice a newborn child. John confronts Demus and a fight ensues, leading the two to the roof of the hospital. Demus uses the baby in his possession as a human shield, only to opt to throw the infant off the roof if Prudhomme didn't comply. Reluctantly, John sets his gun on the ground, thus giving Gerald the opportunity to make a dive towards it. John wrestles Demus for the gun, and shoots the deranged serial killer once he has it in his grasp.
