The German Guards were a pair of minor antagonists in Blackadder II. Their first and only appearances was in the final episode, "Chains".
The 1st Guard was portrayed by Mark Arden and the 2nd Guard was portrayed by Lee Cornes, who also portrayed Percy Shelly in Blackadder the Third.
Biography[]
The German Guards were first seen hitting Lord Blackadder over the head with a big stick. They would be later seen abducting Lord Melchett. It is later revealed that they were working for Prince Ludwig the Indestructible, who was plotting to usurp the English throne by overthrowing Queen Elizabeth. After detailing his plan to Blackadder and Melchett, Ludwig leaves the guards to watch them as he sails for England. The next day as the guards serve them breakfast, Melchett and Blackadder punch them in the groins and escape.
Personalities[]
The German Guards are cocky and smug, never missing an opportunity to mock Blackadder and Melchett, to the point of thrusting their groins at the prisoners as they serve them breakfast.
