Gettan is a major antagonist in the comedy, dark fantasy, light novel, manga, and anime series The Eminence in Shadow. He was a member of the Cult of Diablos who seeked to be promoted as the 12th member ofthe Knights of the Round and the commander of the Clovers. He also sought to overthrow the Mitsugoshi Company by establishing his control over the Major Corporate Alliance from Garter with the help of Garter Kikuchi, the company's former president. He is the ex-fiancé and archenemy of Yukime.
He is voiced by Daisuke Namikawa in Japanese and by Ian Sinclair in English.
Appearance[]
Gettan is a towering male beastkin of muscular build with long dark brown-colored hair, two brown horns at the top with golden parts around each, and wolf ears with furs right behind. He typically carries a stern expression and is lost his eyes after getting attacked in surprise by a mysterious figure after nearly killing Yukime. As a result, he gained two verticals cars across each of his eyes and remain closed majority of the time, until he swallowed a Tear of Diablos, allowing him to empower himself and open his eyes again.
Personality[]
Driven by a harsh and ruthless mindset, Gettan has adopted a brutal ideology that leads him to mistreat his subordinates with disdain, resorting to lethal punishment for their failures. He does not hesitate to swiftly decapitate any of his subordinates who fail to reach his expectations. In his youth, he was courageous and dedicated to safeguarding his loved ones. However, his overwhelming dignity transformed into a crippling burden, blinding him to his own vulnerabilities. This led him down a path of impulsive and ill-advised actions, such as attempting to harm Yukime, highlighting his tragic inability to recognize and address his personal shortcomings.
