History[]
Gha Nachkt was a Trandoshan who owned a salvage ship during the Clone Wars. Following the Battle of Bothawui, he salvaged the wreckage at the scene of the battle. There, he found R2-D2 and brought the astromech to his ship. Seeing the droid could be worth a lot to the Confederacy, Nachkt contacted General Grievous and agreed to sell him the droid. Shortly after, his ship was intercepted by Anakin Skywalker, who had returned for R2-D2. Nachkt hid R2 in his ship and told Anakin and Ahsoka Tano that there were no R2 droids on his ship, but still let them go on a fruitless search for their droid in his ship. After a battle with two IG-86 assassin droids, Skywalker and Tano left the ship, with Nachkt angry at them for the damage.
After the Jedi left, Nachkt departed for Skytop Station, a listening post where he planned to meet Grievous. En route to the station, R2-D2 tried to escape the ship, but was soon recaptured by Nachkt. When Gha realized that R2 was able to transmit information regarding his whereabouts back to Skywalker, he knocked the droid out of commission. Nachkt met with Grievous at Skytop, and disassembled R2-D2 on Grievous' orders. Nachkt then discovered the droid contained a rich source of Republic intelligence, more than he previously believed. Grievous told him that he earned his fee, but Nachkt demanded a higher payment, since the droid was worth more. He was then betrayed and killed by Grievous, who stabbed him through the back with a lightsaber.
