Biography[]
Mr. and Mrs. Stonehack wanted to rob the ancient Aztec pyramid in the Mexican town Cinco of all its treasures. So, the pair disguised themselves as the Ghost of King Katazuma and a living Aztec Statue respectively, to scare the citizens of Cinco away. They used a projector to make it look like Katazuma was 50-feet tall. Now alone, they could freely steal anything from the pyramid.
When Mystery Inc. arrives to Cinco to celebrate a fiesta they hear from the hotel's owner, Juan Martinez, that the fiesta is cancelled due to the Ghost of King Katazuma. After a while they run in to the Stonehacks. Professor Stonehack makes up a false story that he and his wife had accidentally angered Katazuma and that he now wanted revenge on the town of Cinco and that they are planning on leaving Cinco. Professor Stonehack warns the gang about staying there but to no avail. During the night Professor Stonehack orchestrates a false kidnapping of himself by the Ghost of Katazuma to scare the gang even more. The gang, being very concerned about Professor Stonehack seemingly disappearing goes to investigate the pyramid. Suddenly, when nearing the pyramid, the giant Ghost of King Katazuma appeared in front of the gang, threatening them about not going near the pyramid. The whole gang, being terrified, run away from Katazuma and the Aztec Statue Monster (who had also appeared near) and come around to the other side of the pyramid. There, Shaggy finds a secret entrance and so the gang ventures into the pyramid.
There they split up, and Fred, Daphne and Velma find a movie projector and wonder why that would be in an Aztec temple. While discussing King Katazuma appears, but now in normal size, and chases the sleuths through the pyramid. They managed to evade Katazuma, reunite with Shaggy and Scooby-Doo and hide in a room in the pyramid. Unbeknownst to them Katazuma saw the gang hiding and locks the door to the tomb. There they see that all of the priceless ancient artefacts are gone. Velma figures out a way to escape the tomb. Outside the gang sees Katazuma and the Statue carrying artefacts on board a barge. They sneak on to the barge and find a secret channel full of stolen loot from the pyramid. Mystery Inc. devices a plan to capture Katazuma and the Aztec Statue. The plan initially fails but eventually both Katazuma and the Statue end up stranded in the river. Their masks slip off and the gang realizes the Stonehacks were the culprits all along. Mystery Inc. reveals the Stonehacks whole scheme, Professor Stonehack and Elina Stonehack are both arrested and the town of Cinco can peacefully celebrate their fiesta.
Trivia[]
- In the unreleased PlayStation version of "Scooby-Doo! Night of 100 Frights", the Ghost of King Katazuma is one of the possible enemies in the Major Miner's Mining Town level, alongside the Aztec Statue. He looks identical to his cartoon appearance. In the revamp, he was eventually scrapped.
- Katazuma is most likely a reference to Montezuma, who was an ancient Aztec emperor.
- No explanation was given to how the Stonehacks created the giant footprints of Katazuma. Most likely, the footprint when the gang witnessed Katazuma "kidnap" Professor Stonehack, was aldready there just hidden during the night.
