Giant Ruby is a minor antagonist in the Steven Universe episodes "Hit the Diamond" and "Back to the Moon." She is created when the Doc Ruby, Eyeball Ruby, Navy Ruby, Army Ruby, and Leggy Ruby fuse together.

She is voiced by Charlyne Yi who also voiced all of the other Rubies in the same show.

Appearance[]

As her components' forms and gemstones are the same (excluding the gemstone that is located where her left pupil would be instead of where her entire left eye would be), she remains identical, except for being larger in size and having a slight outfit variation (including Doc's yellow visor). Her gemstones are located on her chest, where her left pupil would be, navel, left shoulder, and left thigh.

Personality[]

In her debut episode, "Hit the Diamond", she threateningly asks for the location of Jasper in a firm and interrogative tone, which matches Doc, Eyeball, and Army's personalities. However, once given an answer, her voice became higher and happier (a complete mood swing), which matches Navy and Leggy's personalities. In her second appearance, "Back to the Moon", she tells Garnet, Amethyst, and Pearl that they "can't trick them again." After Steven opens the airlock, Giant Ruby holds onto the doorframe to keep from being swept out, telling Steven that he "can't get rid of them that easy."

She does not identify as her own being, saying "tell us where Jasper is now," "we won't let you trick us again," and "you can't get rid of us that easy."

History[]

In "Hit the Diamond", after realizing they've been tricked, the Rubies fuse into Giant Ruby. Peridot runs out of the barn, ready to surrender to protect her friends. Much to Peridot's surprise, Giant Ruby asks about Jasper's location. Peridot can't answer, so Steven steps in and says Jasper is on Neptune. Satisfied, Giant Ruby unfuses back into individual Rubies.

In "Back to the Moon", after the Rubies realize they've been tricked again, Doc tells them to fuse into Giant Ruby to fight the Crystal Gems. Steven opens the airlock, and Giant Ruby gets sucked halfway out the door by the vacuum of space. Giant Ruby warns Steven that he can't "get rid of them that easy". But then Sardonyx forms and hits Giant Ruby with her hammer, causing the Rubies to unfuse and get sucked out into space.
