The Gigan Miles are the secondary antagonists of the 2022 short film Godzilla vs. Gigan Rex. They are a race of hostile metallic aliens led by Gigan Rex.
Appearance[]
The Gigan Miles resemble the Showa design of Gigan, large mechanical cyan colored aliens with bladed claws and visors in place of an eye. They have spikes on their chests that resemble buzzsaws. Unlike previous alterations of the character, their buzzsaws can extend outwards.
Biography[]
Many years after Godzilla's last sighting, the world was assumed to have returned to peace. However, one day a group of cyborg aliens called the Gigan Miles, led by Gigan Rex, appeared over Tokyo. The monsters went on a brutal rampage, destroying everything in their path. Planes and tanks were sent to stop them, but their attacks had no effects on their metallic skin. The Gigan Miles effortlessly decimate the military vehicles with their claws and lasers.
Just as all hope seems lost, Godzilla arrives and makes his arrival by slicing out the throat of one of the Gigan Miles. Another attacks him with its speed and claws, but makes no dent in him before Godzilla slams it down and crushes its head. The third one attacks in front while the fourth ambushes him from behind, attempting to slice him with its buzzsaw. Godzilla promptly unleashes a pulse from his dorsal spines that disembowels the fourth before blasting the third with his breath.
Gigan Rex, the leader of the Gigan Miles, then reveals himself to confront Godzilla, but even he wasn't able to best the king of the monsters. As Godzilla blasts Gigan Rex with his breath, the alien activates a telepathic beam that calls reinforcements of nine Gigan Miles. The Gigan Miles extend the buzzsaws from their stomach and rapidly launch themselves at Godzilla, slicing him at rapid speeds.
Before they can kill Godzilla, he activates an atomic pulse and unleashes a more powerful breath, obliterating three of the Gigan Miles. Gigan Rex extracts the cores of the remaining six Gigan Miles to empower his beam, only to be bested and killed by Godzilla.
Powers and Abilities[]
- Bladed claws: The arms of the Gigan Miles are replaced with blades, allowing them to slice and skewer anything in their path, from planes, tanks, and even buildings.
- Bladed tail: The Gigan Miles have a bladed tail which they can also strike their opponents with.
- Lasers: The Gigan Miles can fire a yellow laser from an aperture located above their eye.
- Buzzsaw chests: The Gigan Miles have buzzsaws on their chests that help them in slicing their foes. They are also capable of extending their buzzsaws outwards.
- Flight: The Gigan Miles are capable of flight with levitation.
- Agility: While airborne, the Gigan Miles are capable of moving at Mach Speeds.
- Durability: The metallic skin of the Gigan Miles allow them to resist blasts from enemy arsenals. They are not able to resist Godzilla's strength, however, although their claws are able to resist his atomic breath.
