Gira and Geel are the two Tail Soldiers of the Tailed-People Clan Jashinka Empire that served as the personal bodyguards to Prince Megiddo and were major antagonists in the opening episodes of Kagaku Sentai Dynaman. They look exactly like normal Tail Soldiers except for the fancy clothing they wear.
Gira is voiced by Shoji Hirokazu and Geel is voiced by Keiji Tsujii who previously voiced the Machinemen and Boxing Monger in Taiyou Sentai Sun Vulcan and later voiced the other Tail Soldiers and the Dark Knight also in Dynaman and Zyuoh and the Mechaclones in Choudenshi Bioman.
Biographies[]
Past[]
Gira, Geel and the rest of the Tail Soldiers as a whole originated from a meteor that crashed into Earth and burrowed into its core, where the lifeforms within it evolved into a civilisation known as the Tailed-People. The Tail Soldiers specifically evolved from the base Jashinka one-cell organism that came to Earth from space from prehistoric times, reaching their humanoid forms. They gained some form of sentience but not to the level of power and capability of their superiors so they only had one tail each. The Tailed-People became advanced in science and eventually came to be ruled by Emperor Aton and his son Prince Megiddo who believed the Earth to belong to them. However, two particular Tail Soldiers showed exceptional weapons skill and loyalty so they were enhanced and made Megiddo's personal bodyguards.
Dynaman[]
In 1983, Emperor Aton begins plans to invade the surface of Earth but, after discovering through Crab Evo that humans cannot become Nine-Tailed People, he sends Megiddo to lead the final invasion only for the Dynamen to emerge. Gira and Geel fight alongside Megiddo against Hokuto Dan, using explosives against him and gaining the upper-hand until Crab Evo mistakenly shoots everyone with his Crab Bombs. This allows Dan to knock Megiddo from his horse and cut off one of the Prince's tails; enraging him and forcing Gira and Geel to hold him back until he is convinced to leave to treat his wound although not before swearing revenge.
During the Jashinka Empire's scheme to create a man-eating plant, Butterfly Evo, Gira and Geel kidnap a girl to feed to the plant, but the Jashinka forces are attacked by Hokuto, who rescues the girl before she can be eaten. Instead, the plant eats Gira and then Geel as well when he attempts to pull Gira out.
Turboranger[]
During the Turborangers' first battle against the Hundred Boma Tribes, they are joined by all ten previous Super Sentai teams which includes the Dynamen. As the Sentai fight, the narrator recalls the Dynaman's many battles which includes Gira and Geel being repeatedly blasted by Crab Evo.
Powers and Abilities[]
- Strength: Gira and Geel were strong enough to easily overwhelm four of the Dynamen and hold back an enraged Megiddo after Dan cut off his tail.
- Durability: Gira and Geel were unhurt by being repeatedly shot by Crab Evo’s Crab Bombs.
- Speech: Gira and Geel could speak despite lacking mouths.
- Swordsmanship: Gira and Geel were extremely skilled swordsmen, being able to fight and overwhelm four Dynamen all by themselves.
Arsenal[]
- Katanas: Gira and Geel wielded katanas in battle.
- Energy Blasts: Gira and Geel could cross their katanas to make them glow silver and fire invisible energy blasts strong enough to cause large explosions. They were only ever used to cover a retreat.
- Dynamite: Gira and Geel used dynamite to try and kill Hokuto during the opening battle.
Trivia[]
- In the USA Night Flight Parody dub, Gira and Geel were given stereotypical French accents.
