Giselle Gewelle is a supporting antagonist in Bleach. She is a Quincy and a member of the Wandenreich's Sternritter, with the designation "Z" - "The Zombie".
She is voiced by Nao Toyama (who also voiced Daphne in Re:Zero and Mika Misono in Blue Archive) in Japanese and Casey Mongillo in English.
Appearance[]
Giselle has blue eyes and long, black hair extending down to her lower back, with two strands that are tied up to make it look like she has antennae. Her attire is a variation of the Sternritter's typical white uniform, consisting of a trench coat with long sleeves, white shoes, and black leggings. He wears a small white cap, which features a black peak and the Wandenreich insignia emblazoned on its front, on the side of his head.
Personality[]

Giselle has an upbeat and cheerful personality and likes to make silly faces and snark at her friends. This obscures her true nature as a ruthless and cruel fighter who has absolutely no remorse when using her power to force a bunch of soldiers to kill themselves while they still retain awareness of their actions and beg her to stop. She also has no qualms about murdering her own teammates to gain access to their abilities or gleefully humiliate and abuse them, such as with Bambietta Basterbine. She even tongued out towards Mayuri Kurotsuchi.
Giselle can be offended when someone makes demeaning comments to her, such as when Yumichika suggested that she was a man because she smelled of semen or when he recounted her excitement when she finished with her partner and he asked her if she had an erection at the same time that she said it was a "sick pervert". Also, when Charlotte Chuhlhourne commented on feeling that they are similar.
She has some standard as shown by her disgust towards PePe Waccabrada because while she can control other people body, she doesn't control their hearts like Pepe.
After her master Yhwach betrayed her and the other Quincies (who are fighting at the Seireitei), Giselle shown vengeful on her creator as well wanting to get revenge on him for his betrayal.

- The Zombie (死者 (ザ・ゾンビ), Za Zonbi; Japanese for "Deceased"): Giselle's Schrift allows her to convert people into her own zombies by spraying hee blood upon them. While effective against Shinigami, she cannot do this to Quincies, unless they are fully dead, in which she has to strip every remaining life out of them, in order to fully transform them into zombies. Her Schrift also allows her to heal others and restore limbs, as well as heal herself from fatal injuries and death-like situations, effectively making her an immortal being.
- Reishi Manipulation: Much like her fellow Quincies, Giselle is able to absorb and manipulate Reishi, converting it into her own form of weaponry.
- Great Spiritual Power: Giselle possesses spiritual power comparable to that of a captain-level shinigami.
Abilities[]
Giselle's Vollständig, Azhalbiora.
- Azhalbiora (神の死 (アザルビオラ), Azarubiora; Japanese for "Death of God"): Giselle's Vollständig grants her purple Reishi wings in the form of bones, as well as a tail, utilizing bones as well. Her Vollständig lets her summon skeletal beings from her Reishi wings which he dubs as Dancing Dead Boys Club (ダンシング デッド ボイス クラブ, Danshingu Deddo Boisu Kurabu). She can also create constructs around hierarms dubbed as Munchy Munchy Babies (マンチ マンチ ベビース, Manchi Manchi Bebīsu), though she was never able to demonstrate the full scope of this particular ability.
- Sklaverei (聖隷 (スクラヴェライ), Sukuraverai; German for "Slavery", Japanese for "Holy Slave"): Much like her fellow Quincies, Giselle can use Sklaverei to absorb Reishi around her and convert it into power that enhances the powers and abilities of her Vollständig.

Trivia[]
- Giselle presents herself as female, but Yumichika and Charlotte's comments about her having the "smell of a man", suggesting she is transgender. Tite Kubo would eventually clarify this in a Q&A that Giselle is indeed a biological man, which confirms she is a transgender woman because her gender identity is a woman.
- The phrase where Yumichika tells her that "she reeks of semen" is omitted in the anime, and she also interprets it as a mockery of her corporal odor.
