Giwung Kim is a minor antagonist in the survival horror web-manwha Forest of Humans, created by Junho Hwang.
He is a cannibal who was one of the ten death row convicts chosen to be experimented on at the facility, before he is broken out and attempts to escape.
Personality[]
Giwung has little scenes to him, but is best exemplified as a very calm and creepy individual, yet has no real malice in what he does. He shows to be a cannibal who completely enjoys human meat, preferring the buttock meat from his own admission. Despite his depraved cannibalism, Giwung is polite and soft spoken, not attacking Ru Ha and simply helping her get the knife out of Chungshik’s body while decapitating him, and shows a lack of social skills, seeing her as weird for fainting when he started explaining the finess of human meat.
Biography[]
Giwung Kim was arrested and played on death row for the serial murder of 19 people, including his mother and siblings, who he then chopped up and eaten. However, according to Giwung Kim, it was his own father who killed them and he simply helped chopped their bodies up and ate them.
He was selected, alongside nine other convicts, to be placed in a facility to be experimented on before executed. During his interview, he speaks about certain parts of the human body that are not safe to eat. He, alongside eight other convicts were released by Hyeseon Kim, and they slaughtered the staff.
After Jaejun betrayed the group and they discover the body of Bohyeon Lee, Junho Park separated the group, placing Giwung to go with Gyeongshik Kim, Chungil Ji and Cheongshik Lee. While discovering Yeongsuk’s body, Cheongshik attempts to rally them to kill Hyeseon and Junho, only for them, including Giwung, to chase Cheongshik once the lights go on. They corner Cheongshik, who kills himself to prevent from getting brutally killed.
Giwung separates from Gyeongshik and Chungil to get the phone in Cheongshik’s pocket to prevent anyone calling the cops, where he finds Ru Ha attempting to get the knife out of Cheongshik’s neck. Giwung simply helps the terrified Ru Ha decapitate Cheongshik’s corpse as he explains his father killing his family and making him help chop up and eat their corpses and his personal taste for human flesh. This causes Ru Ha to fall unconscious, much to his confusion.
As Giwung leaves and walks down the hall to meet up with Gyeongshik and Chungil, he is ambushed by Hyeseon and Junho, who stick a needle in his neck and injects posion on in him, killing him almost instantly and brutally.
Trivia[]
- He is possibly the only one do convicts to not have killed anyone, as he claims that his father was the true killer and that he simply ate the corpses. Whether this is true or not is unknown.
