Gladys Jones is a supporting antagonist in Season 3 of the CW show, Riverdale. She is a Southside Serpent, FP Jones' ex-wife and Jughead's mother.
She was portrayed by Gina Gershon.
Biography
Season 3
Gladys is mentioned in Season 1 and first appears in Season 3 when Jughead comes to see her and her sister Jellybean in Toledo. Then, they celebrate the return of Jughead and the latter tells Gladys what is happening in Riverdale. Right after, Penny Peabody is captured and Gladys interrogates her. The next day, Gladys explains that Hiram is looking for Archie and whoever is with him (so Jughead), is also a target. After Jughead leaves, Gladys is seen getting the Fizzle Rocks from Hermione Lodge brought by Veronica and Reggie.
Afterwards, she returns to Riverdale under the pretense that she wants to be reunited with her family although it is to resume her secret drug business. With FP, she joins the Gargoyle Gang, which displeases Jughead who doesn't think it's the right solution to save the Southside Serpents. Later in the season, Jughead confronts Gladys about her drug dealing and she explains that she only did it to help her family although she agrees it was wrong.
Along with these problems, Gladys learns that Jellybean has been kidnapped and with Jughead she captures and beats Kurtz up in order to have answers. Jughead explains that the only way to save Jellybean is to play Gryphons & Gargoyles and Gladys agrees with FP. During the game, Gladys is forced to reveal her criminal activities which infuriates FP. Two of the quests announced by Kurtz are the robbery of Pop's cafe and a duel between Gladys and Penny. At the end, Gladys is injured in the arm and the next day is in the hospital. Eventually, Gladys decides to leave Riverdale and leaves Jellybean with Jughead. It is unknown what happened to her after that.
