~ Glenn explaining why he murdered Danielle Masoner. |
Glenn Cheales is the main antagonist of the Law & Order: Special Victims Unit episode "Choreographed". He is a jealous husband who murder his wife's lover's wife, and accidentally poisons his own wife.
He was portrayed by the late Bob Saget, who also portrayed Dash in Casper's Scare School.
Early life[]
Glenn is a scientist who specializes in creating surveillance software. He is married to a dancer named Naomi who he feels unworthy of, and as a result is possessive and controlling of her. Convinced that she is cheating on him, he plants an RFID chip in her arm while she is sleeping and uses it to track her movements. Eventually, he finds out that his suspicions are correct - she is having an affair with her boss and their mutual friend, Wesley Masoner, an arrogant, bad-tempered dance choreographer who is himself cheating on his wife, Danielle.
Determined to make Masoner feel as bad as he does, he murders Danielle by poisoning her coffee, causing her to suffer a fatal heart attack. He then begins planning to frame Masoner for her murder in order to get him out of his and Naomi's lives.
"Choreographed"[]
Detectives Olivia Benson and Elliot Stabler of the NYPD's Special Victims Unit investigate Danielle's murder, and question Glenn, who tells them that Masoner was having an affair. As intended, this leads the detectives to discover Masoner's relationship with Naomi, which makes Masoner their main suspect.
Glenn's plan goes awry, however, when bacteria from the needle he used to implant Naomi's RFID chip interacts with her pre-existing liver condition and causes her to go into septic shock. Benson and Stabler, having figured out that Glenn murdered Danielle, tell Glenn what he did to his wife; horrified and stricken with guilt, Glenn confesses to Danielle's murder. After the detectives arrest him, they allow him to see Naomi in the hospital, where she curses him for killing Danielle and endangering her life before her liver fails, leaving her with 48 hours to live unless she receives a transplant.
Glenn, who has the same blood type as Naomi, begs to be allowed to donate a lobe of his liver to save her life, but the warden of the prison in which he is being held refuses to give him leave to undergo the procedure. Benson and Stabler manage to change his mind, however, and Glenn is prepped for surgery. As he is wheeled into the operating room, he tells Naomi that he loves her, but she refuses to look at him; however, she does tell Benson and Stabler to thank him for her. Naomi presumably recovers, and Glenn goes to prison for life for murder and attempted murder.
